Rainy Tuesday

“If any of you lacks wisdom,

Pray for the Councils and the Hatchels today.  Moving days are long and stressful.  One move is long, but the other one is shorter.  Everything has to be packed, moved, and unpacked in either move.

Pray for Frank Smith’s family as he has two sick parents.  Frank and Sue will be flying to MS where Frank’s mother is receiving hospice care.  His dad is hospitalized in LA.  They need special prayers.

My former student, Cindy, who lives in the Albany-Holden area is having to leave her home again due to flooding.  This time the move is expected to be for weeks, not days.  Pray they can maintain some normalcy in their lives.

Pray for those not too far north of here who are dealing with icy conditions.

 I got to stay the night with my big brother, Dan Turner. Was really nice to get to spend some time with him. We have talked about a multitude of things in a short amount of time. Thank you, Lord, for that gift! Dan underwent a great deal of testing yesterday by physical therapists, occupational therapists, recreational therapists, and speech therapists. Today is the day where they really start to work him. His spirits are good and he’s ready for the task! Please continue to pray for Dan. Thank you all for your prayers!

remember Marshall….He is in ICU in Covngton. Went in yesterday with cpmlication with the COPD. They put him in ICU on bi-pap to try to help with the oxygen sats. If this doesn’t work then they will have to intubate. Will know more tomorrow after the night on bi-pap. thanks everyone

Dickie Sitman had his surgery and is home.  Thank-you for your continued prayers for him.

Linda B. Williams had a seizure yesterday, so she will be seeing her doctor today.  She was doing well with her new pacemaker.  Pray for her and her doctor.

It seems Dickie Sitman and Ruby Schwartz are both headed for gall bladder surgery.  Please keep them in your prayers.

Thankfully the winds were not as bad as expected yesterday.  The flooding problem is getting better in some areas but worse along the rivers.  Pray for safety for those who travel in those areas.

Rafe Cutrer is better this week.  Thank God for his continued progress.  Brandy is progressing too.  Pray for both of them.

Donnie Travis is still dealing with complications.  He will need another surgery, probably Tuesday.  Pray for the doctors at OLOL as they work with Donnie.

Dan Turner is “showing out” as Ladd says.  He’s making some good progress now and doing things he hasn’t been able to do in the last month.  Keep praying for Dan’s continued improvement and for his family and coworkers who are sticking close and doing all they can to help him.

Pray for our neighbor, Dickie Sitman, as he continues to undergo tests at North Oaks.

I like this method because you do all your reading in one book at a time.  I feel like I’m making good progress and am enjoying reading the Scriptures over again.

The weather is going to be bad, but we don’t need an ark because God promised he would never destroy the world with water again!  Be alert and careful today.

Please begin to pray for those who live in areas that are flooding.  Some people had to leave their homes during the night.  Now, they are wondering what is happening there.  Pray for peace for them and the assurance that their family is safe even if their home is now.

Mrs. Magdalene Ford’s surgery went well.  She should be home in about a week.

Mrs. Linda B. Williams is home with her new pacemaker.  She is thankful her problem was found and taken care of.

Pray for Ruby Schwartz as she undergoes tests to determine what needs to be done to help her.

Pray for all the people who continue to have colds, coughs, flu, and bronchitis.  All these seem to have hit hard in our area.  Many people think they are better and then relapse.

Dan Turner continues to improve.  Yesterday, he took a wheelchair ride to the area where the helicopters land and take off – the area where he got on those helicopters to help people who needed emergency care.  That should have been fantastic motivation for him to get better.

Pray for the Houeye and Miller families as they bury loved ones on this rainy day.

Linda B. Willians’ pacemaker is giving her assurance of help when her heart periodically takes a rest.  She did well with surgery and should be at home some time today.  Thank God the doctors were able to determine her problem and fix it.

Dickey Sitman has been hospitalized at North Oaks for a couple days undergoing tests.  Pray the doctors can quickly asses the need and “fix” it.

Mrs. Magdalene Ford of Roseland is having surgery at Cypress Point today.  Then, she should be there for the better part ofr a week.  Pray for her family as they wait through the surgery today and for the doctors as they make decisions about her care.

Today, at 11:00, there will be an informal luncheon for the Councils who will be leaving our area to leave near their daughter.  Pray for them as they make this move and adjust to a new life in South Carolina.

January 26 is the date for a women’s retreat at FBC, Kentwood.  I asked some questions and did some research so I could supply answers to questions from ladies in our area.  The speaker will be Rochelle Frazier of Magnolia.  She is about 40 and has been through many trials in life.  Through it all, she has learned to depend on God.  You can read more about her and her books at http://www.hegavemepearls.com/.

I’m enjoying my 90 reading of the Bible so much that I am reading ahead a little.  The assigned passage for Day 6 is Exodus 15:19 – 28:43.  I hope some of you are enjoying this study with me.

Daryl Carruth is home from OLOL.  He has one stent.  The other two blockages will be treated with medication.  Pray he has a good recovery period.

Many people are still sick with coughs, cold, bronchitis, etc.  Please pray by name for those whom you know.

Sunday, a Beth Moore Study of Revelations will begin at FBC, Kentwood.  The eleven week study will begin at 5:30 in the fellowship hall.  Call the church office for more information.

Rafe Cutrer and his parents are all better and back at home in Kentwood.  Please continue to pray for them.

Dan Turner was awake most of the day yesterday and responding to visitors.  Dan has mad a lot of improvement.  Thank God for allowing Dan to get better.  Pray for Dan and his family as he continues to improve.

Dan Turner is doing well.  The chest tube removed fluid and the vent provides oxygen when he needs it.  Pray for the family as this is now two weeks since the accident.  Pray they will not grow weary and they will stay positive concerning Dan’s recovery.

Stella McDaniel Heth lives east of Arcola.  Yesterday, she fell and broke her wrist and her arm.  She had expensive surgery at North Oaks.  Pray for a complete recovery with a minimal amount of pain.

There was a very respectable size group that braved the elements yesterday and walked and prayed for 27 minutes.  Mainly, they were showing their concern for the 27 families of Newtown that lost a family member.  These families will need our prayers for some time.
