Wednesday Night

I want to post solely to share a new Baptist Press article about Ukraine.  I hope this will be in inspiration, a suggestion, a hope, and a plan for each of us.

      http://www.bpnews.net/BPnews.asp?id=42084

The Bible says that there is, “a time to tear and a time to mend, a time to be silent and a time to speak, a time to love and a time to hate, a time for war and a time for peace” (Ecc. 3:7-8). In accordance with these wise words, we declare today to be a time to mend, and not a time to tear the nation apart; a time to seek peace, and not a time to fan the flames of war; a time to learn to love yesterday’s enemies, and not a time to continue to hate rivals and those who have hurt us.

“Do not neglect to show hospitality to strangers,

Friday Morning Bible Study – Bonanza #1

Our clip from the TV program was very good on it’s own this morning.  I think this lesson on transformation has been my favorite of all we have done so far.  Needless to say, our lives were transformed when we placed Jesus in our lives.  We hope to live in such a way that others can see Him in what we say and do.  I look forward to the next eleven Bonanza lessons.  It is never too late to join us.

Looking Ahead – “Young” Ladies BIble Study

Disciple Now

Continue to pray for the youth from several area churches as they are meeting this weekend at FBC, Kentwood for Disciple Now.  Pray the leaders impart the message God has for each of the youth.

Wednesday lunch for the BCM at SLU

If you attend FBC, Kentwood, you will likely find a request to help provide a portion of the meal we will be serving Wednesday.  Thanks, ahead of time, for your cooperation in feeding about 150 students one of the best meals they receive all year.  Know that the BCM is important in the lives of college students.  You will be helping to draw students in to the center.  Who wants a hamburger when they smell jambalaya cooking?

Get out of your little world and do something for someone else!  Both of you will be blessed.

Today’s new is not so good.  Susie has developed pneumonia.  Please keep this family in your prayers.

With permission from Susie Eads, I’m sharing this as a special devotional thought.

I have a little story to tell you about forgiveness. Bear with me… I have a MacBook Pro laptop and on a Mac in the bottom right corner is a trash can. When you want to delete files you move them to the trash can and then periodically you empty the trash to delete those files. It’s different from the recycle bin because on the Mac when you click to empty the trash you get a message saying that the trash will be securely emptied and you cannot recover the files afterwards. When it finishes the process of emptying the files it makes a noise like a piece of paper crumpling up to let you know that it is finished. I am bad about forgetting to empty my trash so yesterday morning I clicked to empty it and it showed that I had 55,000 files to delete. Yikes! So I set it to empty and it was deleting files all day! Well I forgot about it and left it running. Fast forward to this morning and I am sitting next to my laptop while I have my quiet time. I was writing in my prayer journal and I had just written this sentence, “Lord, please forgive me for all the things I have done in the past that pierced your heart.” At that exact moment, I heard the sound from my laptop indicating that the trash had completed emptying!!! It was like the Lord told me that my sins are forgiven and securely deleted and I can’t recover them!!!! So if you are like me and have problems trusting God to forgive you or not forgiving yourself, remember that He empties the trash when we ask Him to and those sins no longer exist. Happy Valentines Day! Remember that God loves you more than you can imagine!                                                                               Susie Owens Eads, 2-14-14
