Midday Friday

Austin Rose is home, but not able to go to school due to side-effects of his treatment.  Pray for his family to keep their strong faith and to be faithful in their witness while traveling on a difficult journey.

Wow!  God is blessing the “Lucy” Bible study.  We had great participation and some soul searching among the 19 people present today.  We are looking forward to our fourth study next week.  Some have decided to eat at the City Cafe after our study.  Men and women are encouraged to join us at 11:00 Friday for lesson four, “Legalism”.

There was a fire at the Purina mill at Arcola this morning.  Thankfully, everyone who works there and those who came to fight the fire are all okay.

Wednesday Afternoon

I’m so glad I’m a senior adult and got to go to the Senior Adult Revival this week.  We were in Grangeville this morning.  That beautiful little church was backed with men standing across the back.  Once again, we had a glorious time of worship.  We were led by a talented local group, Andy Taylor, and Jacob Williams.  I’m already looking forward to next year.  I hope you will plan to attend if you missed the services today.

Lillian Russell learned she had a pre-cancerous growth that was found in time because of the procedure she had done this week.  Let’s thank God for her good report and for all the preventive health services we have available to us now.

I was asked to announce that the annual Fall Fest at Osyka will be October 5th and 6th.  On Sunday, October 6th, there will be local gospel entertainment from 1:00 – 5:00 P.M.

Tuesday Afternoon

From your computer you can surely see my smile because of attending the Senior Adult Revival in Roseland this morning.  How wonderful it was to be with other Christians to worship God!  It is wonderful to have so many Christian friends together in one building.  I am looking forward to the service at Grangeville tomorrow.

From Charlene Blades

The Needham family (J.B., Roseanne, Jed and Jaycee Dell) are doing great. Jaycee Dell is gaining weight and keeping everyone on their toes.
They even made it to early service church on Sunday.
Roseanne is going to have a hernia repair surgery next Monday (outpatient) Keep her and her doctor in your prayers.
We are so thankful for our amazing family and friends. And our heavenly father who has blessed our family.
THANK YOU everyone for your prayers!

Finally, brethren, pray for us,

that the word of the Lord may run swiftly and be glorified,

just as it is with you.”

~2 Thessalonians 3:1~

Yesterday, the stent went well for Mr. Pat Hoosier to open a blocked duct.  Cancer was found in the pancreas.  This allows the doctors to pay attention to an area that had been undetected up to this point.  The girls are now asking for prayer for their mother who will see a doctor about scheduling surgery on her hands.  She put their daddy first, but now it is time for her to get some needed attention.

Yesterday morning, the senior adult revival at Line Creek Baptist Church was wonderful.   Music, preaching, fellowship, and food – what a great way for Christians from all over Two Rivers Association to gather together!  Tomorrow, the revival will be at Roseland.

Another association meeting was held at 1:00 Monday afternoon at  East Fork.  The WMU heard from Kay Bennett who works on our behalf in New Orleans.  Her ministry has taken on a lot of new responsibility working to help stop human trafficking.  We learned so much!  Our hearts were touched by the stories she told of people who had been helped.

Missions – Don’t forget to collect usable children’s shoes, school uniforms, jackets, and blankets for those who might need them.  Place your donations inside the main or office entrances to FBC,K.  I will make another delivery to Re-Store soon.

The Fall Food  Round-Up for the La. Baptist Children’s Home is Monday, the 16th.  Call the church if you need to know what items they need the most.

Sunday

  “Do not be deceived, God is not mocked;

for whatever a man sows, that he will also reap.

For he who sows to his flesh will of the flesh reap corruption,

but he who sows to the Spirit will of the Spirit reap everlasting life.”

~Galatians 6:7-8~

Austin Rose (from his mother, Lisa)

Had a successful week of chemo and we get to go home tomorrow (Sunday) This was his last regular round!! We come back in two weeks for the first maintenance treatment. It’s hard to believe but he is so close to done.
Side effect of these particular drugs is a sunburn like affect on the palms of the hands and bottoms of the feet. Luckily not quite as painful as last time. Ice packs help and it will all be a memory soon enough. — with Austin Rose.

Two young boy, Connor and Eli, are home for a change.  Lara is still in Children’s Hospital in New Orleans, but receiving good reposts.  I’m so thankful to post good reports on all of these young people.

TeamKid will begin tonight at FBC,Kentwood.  This will replace AWANA, but is very similar.  Bring your children ages 4 – 5th grade out at 5:30.  There will be a place for every member of the family, so bring the whole family.

The Beth Moore study of Deuteronomy will begin Monday, the 16th at 6:30 P.M. in the fellowship hall.

The Senior Adult Revival will be Monday – Wednesday.  The first day, we will meet at Line Creek.  Lunch will be provided each day.

The associational WMU meeting will follow the revival tomorrow.  It will be at East Fork at 1:00.  I hope many of you will be up to making both of these important events tomorrow.

You have one more week to get food to your local Baptist church in our area for the Fall Food Round-Up for the La. Baptist Children’s Home.  Remember the 16th.  I previously posted a list of their needs, so look back on The Prayer Link to see what they need the most.

Remember, to continue to bring children’s shoes and school uniforms to the church.  I will organize your deliveries and take them to Re-Store which in located between Cooper’s Bakery and Boston Restaurant in Amite.  We will be collecting blankets and jackets next, if you would like to get an early start on sorting through things at home.

If you would like to being anything for the family that had a fire and lost everything last week, please refer to the list I posted earlier or a list at the church at the office entrance.

Kaye Roberts’ brother, Jimmy Alford, has completed his radiation and chemotherapy and will go for a pet scan on Monday, September 9th.  Let’s start praying now for his scan next week.

Mrs. Mary Womack is now home with hospice care.  Check on her and help her in any way you can.

Lara of Lara’s Gowns for Smiles

The MRI showed no metastatic disease or tumors. The spots that showed in her right tibia are still glowing, but the consensus is that it is marrow changes due to chemotherapy. We will continue the rest of her treatment at CHNOLA. She has three 5 day chemotherapy cycles left. We are hoping to be finished mid-late November. Bone graft surgery will not be until after Christmas so she can enjoy a cast-free holiday!! Thank you all for your prayers!
