Operation Christmas Child

  • Adrian, 12-years-old, was abandoned by his parents when he was a child when they left the country. He thought nobody loved him and had many problems at school because he didn’t have a home. “My uncle and aunt invited me to go an evangelistic program in the church,” Adrian shared. “There, I met Christ. God loves me and He loves me a lot. I know I’m not alone. I hope my parents come back from Spain so I can hug them and tell them I love them a lot. Thank you for the shoebox gift and the biggest gift of all, Jesus.”
  • “2 softballs $2.50 = $1.25 each at Big Lots. I like to send tennis balls or real softballs & baseballs that won’t tear up. It may be the only ball the child ever gets & a whole village may play with it.” – Lori V
  • “Father, break my heart for what breaks yours, give me open hands and open doors, put your light in my eyes and let me see, that my own little world is not about me.” – Matthew West
  • Julia was born in Ukraine into a family full of poverty, pain and addiction. When she was 8-years-old, Julia’s father took all of their possessions and left her and her mother. One day, her mother was invited to church by a friend and gave her life to the Lord. Soon after, Julia’s church received brightly colored shoeboxes. Julia not only got a gift that day, but finally something to call her own. In her box she found candy, make-up, jewelry and other girl items. Julia said the shoebox gift gave her hope of a safe place. Eventually, Julia started working with the group who delivered the shoebox gifts and began reaching out to other children who grew up like she did. Julia’s own shoebox gave her more than material items; it gave her hope and reminded her that the Lord would keep her safe.
  • We will be improving our collection of “Shoeboxes” this year by giving you several different opportunities/methods of contributing.  Stay tuned for details.

Have a great Lord’s Day!

Yes, I’m late with The Prayer Link.  About this time yesterday, my internet went out.  Today, I learned too much pressure had built up.  I was able to fix it myself once I was given directions.  Who knew an internet line could build up too much pressure?!?!

The world is full of pressures/stress issues.  The simple fix is Jesus.  I hope you have that “fixed” in your life.  If not, I can guide you to the “instruction book”.
