Yesterday, as we returned from David’s appointment in Covington, we stopped at a Dollar Tree to look for three items for our shoeboxes. As soon as I got inside the door, a former school system employee greeted me. We had the opportunity to visit a few minute.
After she left, we headed to the school supplies to see if they had any of the specific items we are in need of. We were pulling out items. from the shelves and loading our basket when she returned and gave us $20.00. She said for us to put it on the shoeboxes. We were buying a number of that item, eight packs of glue sticks, so her donation helped buy some of them.
I read a book a few years ago, “God Winks”. That was surely a “God Wink”!

Missionary Focus
Today, I would like to introduce begin a series on introducing you to a new missionary, missionary couple, or missionary family each day. After you learn about them, please have a special time of prayer for them.
Tim and Annie Tidenberg.
Tim and Annie have dedicated their lives to sharing God’s love and bringing the gospel to the nations. As former missionary kids, they both felt called to continue the work of their parents and serve as missionaries themselves in Africa. After many years of church planting, they moved from their role in East Africa and to the United States, where they led a church for five years.
However, they felt led to return to the field and serve in a new capacity as member care consultants with the International Mission Board in West Africa. In this role, they provide pastoral care and counseling to support and equip missionaries, contributing to their spiritual, emotional, and mental well-being.
As Chris Martin, the IMB’s director of member care, explained, the mission of the member care team is to keep missionaries healthy and on the field, and the principal way they care for missionaries is through pastoral care and counseling. Tim and Annie are both committed to this mission and are serving with dedication and love.
Tim shared, “We spend time with them, encourage them if they’re in a crisis situation, we pray with them and we try to get them some resources to work through what they’re dealing with.”
Tim and Annie’s work is incredibly important, and we would like to ask you to pray for them as they continue their current role.
How to Pray:
Pray that the Lord would give them wisdom and discernment as they care for and mentor missionaries. Pray that they would have insight into the unique needs and challenges that these missionaries face and that they would be able to offer practical advice and support.
Pray they would be strengthened and encouraged in their own faith as they pour into the lives of others. Pray that the Lord would refresh and renew their spirits and give them the strength and energy they need to serve with excellence.
Pray that their impact would be multiplied as missionaries are equipped to share the gospel around the world. Pray that the Lord would use Tim and Annie’s mentorship to raise up a new generation of passionate and effective missionaries who will take the gospel to Africa and beyond.

Good morning! Let’s begin our day thanking God for waking each of us up this morning.
Prayer Focus
This if going to be hard and incomplete, but some thoughts I want to share while this is still fresh in our memories and on the news numerous times every day. As sad as it is, God can and will use it in a positive way!
Let’s pray for those who were in the flood waters Friday in Texas. Thank God for those who were safe while also praying for the families of those who were lost in the flood. Pray for families, communities, and school friends too. What an awful experience and memory!
Also, pray for others in the flood. There were families tent camping there too. Many of them also perished.
Thank God for the survivors. Thank God for those who worked and are still working so hard to prevent the girls from perishing. Thank God for those who somehow survived in trees and debris.
I know You have plans for their lives. Thank for for those plans. May they be used the your service.
Let’s pray for families – parents, siblings, grandparents, cousins, etc. Pray for their friends at home, teachers, churches, etc. Each life touched so many others. Each life and each death can be an opportunity to share about Jesus.
Thankfully, many were saved. Lord, I pray you will use this awful event to draw others into your kingdom, to strengthen families, to touch the lives of teachers, friends, neighbors, etc. May each life and death draw others into your kingdom and your service.
Thank-you God for all those who have worked to locate and rescue others. Lord, let this not be “Just another call for service”, but a changing point in many lives too.
Lord, thank-you for the Christians there to minister to others on-the-spot, immediately, and every day since them. May they forever have a testimony to share that points to You.
May those like me who are not personally touched also remember how fragile life is. May we be like those parents and be able to encourage others to know, love, and serve Him. May we all be able to use this event to witness to others.
Prayer Request
Please pray for Rachel and Trey Buckley as he is again having some health issues and as they work with the doctor to develop the best plan for treatment. May the Lord guide them to the best plan to improve his health. Thank you for your prayers.

Christmas Cards
Yesterday, Linda Callihan came to me as I was waiting for church to begin. She brought me Christmas cards for our December WMU project. She missed the opportunity last December, so brought the cards early this year. Women on mission collects stamped cards each year and gives them to prisoners in our parish jails, Amite and Greensburg. She is the first to donate this year!! You can be second!
Let’s pray for our church and other churches too! May individuals learn more of the truths of the Bible and choose to follow God closer today than ever before.. May churches proclaim God’s Word!

Ashlee Rhenette Travis
July 22, 1977 – July 4, 2025
Ashlee Rhenette Travis, beloved daughter, sister, and aunt, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on July 4, 2025. She is survived by her parents, Kenneth “K.T.” and Imelda Smith Travis, her sister Alison Shawn Hurst (Willie), her brother Mitchell Travis (Amber), her nieces and nephews, Brooklee (Colton), Lacee, Adelyne, Matthew, Ada Grace, Theodore, her great-niece, Emilia, and her godparents, Jerry W. Smith and Joyce Annette Davis. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, William Matthew Smith, Melba Durnin Smith, E.D. Travis, and Georgia Mae McCoy Travis. Ashlee was born in Hammond, Louisiana, on July 22, 1977. Throughout her life, she loved nothing more than to celebrate life, dance, and sing, and she always worked hard to make everyone feel special. Although she was never blessed with children, she loved all of her nieces and nephews as her own. Ashlee was beloved by all who knew her and was blessed with a kind, loving, and gentle soul that perfectly embodied the love of Christ. She was an active parishioner of St. Helena Catholic Church, and a proud member of the Catholic Daughters of the Americas. Her family expresses its heartfelt gratitude to the doctors at Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center in Baton Rouge, the doctors and staff at St. Helena Parish Hospital, and all those who loved and were loved by Ashlee throughout the years. Visitation will be held at McKneely Funeral Home, Amite, on Monday, July 7, 2025 from 5:00PM until 9:00PM with a Rosary at 4:30PM. Visitation will resume at St. Helena Catholic Church Hall from 8:00AM until 10:30AM with Funeral Mass at St. Helena Catholic Church at 11:00AM on Tuesday, July 8, 2025. Services conducted by Fr. Women on Mission
The Kentwood Ladies will meet tonight in the New Hope Sunday School Classroom at 5:00 P.M.. The ladies are welcome to bring their elementary age children for a special missions class that will meet at the same time.
The Associational WMU Ladies will gather at Greensburg on Saturday, July 19th to learn about missions together. The leadership team will meet at 9:00 A.M. with the group meeting being followed with a “Potluck” meal in the church fellowship hall. Come and bring a few friends with you.
During this time, some prophets travelled from Jerusalem to Antioch. One of these men was called Agabus. The Holy Spirit gave him a message from God. He stood up and he said to the people there, ‘Soon people will be very hungry all over the world because there will be no food.’ (That happened when Claudius ruled the Roman world.)
You may want to do some additional reading in Acts 11.
Be sure to encourage others today.
