Prayer Focus

Pray for parents who have children in school this year, preschool through trade school or college. Pray they will encourage their children to study hard and do well as well as they grow up to be quality individuals. Pray for parents to continue to instill Christian values that will be a major part of who their children become for the rest of their lives. Parents have lots of major responsibilities! Don’t fail you children and the children of our community.

Fall Food Round-Up

Each year we have one opportunity to give food to those in the Louisiana Baptist Children’s Home. You can give some of the items they list as “most needed” or give a check through the church office. What a great way to help those less fortunate than we have been! Get ready! I’ll be including the list for you if you plan to shop for them.

Operation Christmas Child

Lots of money has been carefully spent and many hours have been spent spent doing steps to have our items ready for packing. We want to “FILL” our boxes to the best of our ability. So far, most items have been purchased and “readied” for packing.

Out current needs will include finishing that and paying for shipping on our boxes. That amount provides things like “large cartons” that usually each hold about fourteen boxes, services of large trucks, airplanes, donkey’s etc. to get the boxes to the villages where they will be distributed, training for leaders as they “introduce” the children to Jesus, literature on the child’s level and in their own language, etc.

The shoeboxes are much more than a few Christmas gifts! I hope you will get interested and involved. Because of your involvement in any/all of these ways, heaven will be the eternal home to more people! What an important part of the process you can have!

There are many other ways to introduce people to Jesus. Find the method that fit’s you and stay involved.

Those to pray for today:

  • Troubled families
  • Students concerned about a new grade of studies
  • Students who need a few good Christian friends
  • Students who have to repeat a class or grade. If it was hard at first, it surely will not be any easier the second time.
  • Traveling to and from school on a bus or in a personal vehicle.

Pray for needs you are aware of that most of us know nothing about. Your responsibility is to pray, pray, and pray.

Thank you for your daily prayers that can vary so much from day to day. Don’t miss the opportunities and the blessings!
