Obituary
Ashlee Rhenette Travis
July 22, 1977 – July 4, 2025

Ashlee Rhenette Travis, beloved daughter, sister, and aunt, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on July 4, 2025. She is survived by her parents, Kenneth “K.T.” and Imelda Smith Travis, her sister Alison Shawn Hurst (Willie), her brother Mitchell Travis (Amber), her nieces and nephews, Brooklee (Colton), Lacee, Adelyne, Matthew, Ada Grace, Theodore, her great-niece, Emilia, and her godparents, Jerry W. Smith and Joyce Annette Davis. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, William Matthew Smith, Melba Durnin Smith, E.D. Travis, and Georgia Mae McCoy Travis. Ashlee was born in Hammond, Louisiana, on July 22, 1977. Throughout her life, she loved nothing more than to celebrate life, dance, and sing, and she always worked hard to make everyone feel special. Although she was never blessed with children, she loved all of her nieces and nephews as her own. Ashlee was beloved by all who knew her and was blessed with a kind, loving, and gentle soul that perfectly embodied the love of Christ. She was an active parishioner of St. Helena Catholic Church, and a proud member of the Catholic Daughters of the Americas. Her family expresses its heartfelt gratitude to the doctors at Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center in Baton Rouge, the doctors and staff at St. Helena Parish Hospital, and all those who loved and were loved by Ashlee throughout the years. Visitation will be held at McKneely Funeral Home, Amite, on Monday, July 7, 2025 from 5:00PM until 9:00PM with a Rosary at 4:30PM. Visitation will resume at St. Helena Catholic Church Hall from 8:00AM until 10:30AM with Funeral Mass at St. Helena Catholic Church at 11:00AM on Tuesday, July 8, 2025. Services conducted by Fr. Reuben Dykes. Interment Greensburg Cemetery, Greensburg, LA. Pallbearers will be Colton Acosta, Steven Davis, Matthew Belser, Kent Blades, Stevie Oliver, Kenny Hodges, Darrell Dupepe, and Greg Dupepe. Women on Mission
The Kentwood Ladies will meet tonight in the New Hope Sunday School Classroom at 5:00 P.M.. The ladies are welcome to bring their elementary age children for a special missions class that will meet at the same time.
The Associational WMU Ladies will gather at Greensburg on Saturday, July 19th to learn about missions together. The leadership team will meet at 9:00 A.M. with the group meeting being followed with a “Potluck” meal in the church fellowship hall. Come and bring a few friends with you.
