October 7, 1939 – June 9, 2025
A resident of Kentwood, LA, passed away on Monday, June 9, 2025 at The Lodge at Tangi Pines in Amite, LA. He was born October 7, 1939 in Kentwood, LA and was 85 years of age. He retired from Louisiana Department of Transportation. He milked cows at the family dairy, hauled cattle for local farmers, and worked at the auction barn. He is survived by his 2 daughter, Sherry Rosamond (Charles) and Tammy Smith (Michael); 4 grandchildren, Stormie Rosamond McNabb (Colby), Dustin Rosamond (Madison), Tyler Dover and Abagail Dover; sister, Carolyn Smith Baxter (Henry); brother, Elbert Lea Smith, Jr. (Wanda); great-grandchildren, Isabella and Logan Rosamond and Creed McNabb. Preceded in death by his wife, Hilda F. Smith; parents, Elbert L. Smith, Sr. and Ellen S. Smith; sister, Joy Smith Stegner. Visitation at McKneely Funeral Home, Kentwood, from 9:00AM until religious services at 11:00AM on Thursday, June 12, 2025. Services conducted by Bro. Sonny Travis.
