Good Morning!
God has blessed us with another day! Now, how will we use this day, June 1, 2025? Will He be pleased with how we choose to spend the day?
Prayer Focus
Today, let’s pray for children to have opportunities to go to camp or travel some with church or school groups or with their family. I know these things can bring good memories that last a lifetime, because I have many special memories myself.

Dorothy Dell (Milton) Blades
February 17, 1936 – May 31, 2025

Dorothy Dell (Milton) Blades, loving mother, devoted wife, homemaker, and friend peacefully departed this life on May 31, 2025 at her home in Kentwood at the age of 89 surrounded by her loving family. She was a lifelong resident of the Spring Creek Community and a member of the Spring Creek Baptist Church. She attended Spring Creek High School graduating in 1954 and was named “Grazer Queen” her Senior year. Soon thereafter, she married her high school sweetheart, Karie Blades, and was blessed with 61 years of marriage before Karie’s passing in 2015. Dorothy loved being on the go whether visiting family or friends, shopping, taking a trip, attending a party, or eating out having a weakness for the sweets. She loved working in her flower garden, trying new recipes, and supporting her family. Although she passed away at the age of 89, she claimed 29 at every birthday. She was known as “Me Me” to her grandchildren/great grandchildren and memories of her will remain in our hearts forever. It is surmised by family members that Dorothy was named after Dorothy Dell of Hattiesburg, MS who was a beauty queen, singer, and aspiring actress near the time of Dorothy’s birth on February 17, 1936. Dorothy is survived by her son Brad Blades and wife Cyndi; her daughter Karen and husband Jesse McClendon; a brother Willie Karl (Betty) Milton and sister-in-law Audrey Y.
