U.S. Army Veteran

CSM (Ret.) Christopher Kimble Primes, 58, of Hammond, Louisiana, passed away peacefully on January 17, 2025, at his home surrounded by his loving family and friends.

Chris was born on January 12, 1967, in Amite, Louisiana, to the late William M. Primes Jr. and Shirley J. Primes. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and man of God. He graduated from Amite High School in 1985 and later earned a degree in Criminal Justice from Southeastern Louisiana University.

Chris’s life was dedicated to service. He joined the United States Army in 1984, completing his Basic Training and Military Police Training at Ft. McClellan, Alabama. For 20 years, Chris served on the Louisiana National Guard Counter Drug Task Force, where he was assigned to U.S. Customs and later to the Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff’s Office Tri-Parish Narcotics Task Force. His exceptional skills and dedication earned him a position as a sniper on the Sheriff’s Office Special Response Team. Chris was a devoted member of Seeker’s Point Church in Hammond, LA. His faith guided his life, and his passions brought him joy—whether it was hunting, fishing, boating, or spending time at the beach.
