Prayer Focus for Today.

Today, let’s pray for the Lottie Moon Tea and all those who will attend. May each one be inspired by the story of her missionary life and thankful for her and others who served long ago in mission work around the world, especially for single women who served even when the circumstances were very difficult.

The tea at Spring Creek begins at 10 A.M. for anyone who chooses to come. All ladies and girls are invited.

Operation Christmas Child Drop-Off Week

Today, I would love to give you some Operation Christmas Child corrections of statistics. I was having computer issues yesterday morning, so I want to make some additions and corrections.

First Baptist Church served as an area location of the drop-off of shoeboxes and transported the boxes (two trips) to their next site. The drop-off week was November 18-25.

  • FBC, Kentwood packed 499 shoeboxes.
  • We received a total of 1,493 shoeboxes from churches during the eight days.
  • 906 shoeboxes were received on the first day.
  • 12 churches delivered shoeboxes to our collection site.
  • There were 13 volunteers who “manned” our drop-off location and who put in a total of 288 hours during those 8 days.
  • These people placed the boxes in 94 large cartons holding an average of 15-16 shoeboxes.
  • The cartons were placed in the trailer along with 12 boxes of filler that was sent to help fill boxes that needed to have something, such as a liquid, removed.
  • 2024 was a great shoebox year for our area!

Health Concerns

We often pray for individuals with serious illnesses and for individuals with deaths is the family. Today, let’s pray for those who have a common cold that they are having a hard time clearing up. Colds make a person feel bad and are easily spread. People feel they cannot miss work, attend school, etc. until they are completely well, so they often wind up exposing other people. Today, let’s pray people don’t have a lingering cold that spreads or turns into something else.

Have a good weekend, but don’t leave God out of your plans.
