Prayer Focus of the Day

Today, let’s pray for our country as we move closer to the date of the election. I pray the next president will be the one who will be faithful to God and serve Him all the days of their presidency.

August 23, 1937 – October 12, 2024

A resident of Chipola, LA, passed away on Saturday, October 12, 2024 at Central Guest House Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center in Baton Rouge, LA. She was born August 23, 1937 in Baton Rouge, LA and was 87 years of age. She is survived by her 3 sons, Johnie DeLacerda (Margaret), Bennie DeLacerda (Jerri), and  Michael DeLacerda (Susan); 13 grandchildren, Justin DeLacerda (Brittany), Sean DeLacerda (Faylen), Chelsie Colkmire (Dustin), Conor DeLacerda (Gia), Mason DeLacerda, Dacia DeLacerda, Kellie Cascarelli, Corrie DeLacerda, Jason, Roxanne, Jacob, Ben, and Phillip;  22 great-grandchildren, John David, Emberlynn, Remington, Aubree, Hazel, Kolton, Rylynn, Charleigh, Evan, Avlynn, Paityn, Blake, Ryan, Veronica “Roni”, Olivia, Kayla, Amber, Kellie, A.J. and Nick; and  one great-great-grandchild. Preceded in death by her husband, John Herman DeLacerda; daughter, Julie Kelley; parents, Bennie F. Kelley and Leona James Kelley; sister, Barbara Ann Kelley. Visitation at McKneely Funeral Home, Amite, from 9:00AM until religious services at 11:00AM on Saturday, October 19, 2024. Services conducted by Rev. Shawn Ostoj. Interment Wales Cemetery, Greensburg, LA. Pallbearers will be Justin DeLacerda, Sean DeLacerda, Conor DeLacerda, Mason DeLacerda, Mitch Nicholson, and Dustin Colkmire. Women and Girls on Mission

  • Friday – Bake two dozen cookies at your home
  • Saturday – Bring the cookies to the fellowship hall at 9:00 A.M. so they can be put on plates to give them to some of the elderly in our community.
  • We will use the church van to make the deliveries
  • All school-age girls and ladies are invited to participate.

Senior Adult Luncheon

The group will meet at the church and choose between traveling by van or personal car. The buffet will be in Brookhaven.
