TUESDAY

Blessed are ye, when men shall revile you, and persecute you, and shall say all manner of evil against you falsely, for my sake.

Matthew 5:11-12

Prayer Focus

I remember during Hurricane Katerina that we lost power and how drastically we were changed overnight. I remember not being able to tell our family we were okay or to keep up with what was happening with the storm. We were not aware of all the problems in New Orleans. When I compare our inconvenience with the major problems in places like North Carolina today, it seems our problems were so small.

Please continue to pray for those who were in the path of the storm. Pray for those whose greatest damage was caused by the rain/moving water. Pray for those whose families don’t know it they are still living and for their families. Property seems important to many until the situation heightens to life or death.

We still have a part to pray. Pray for people and give through Samaritan’s Purse or Louisiana Baptist Disaster Relief. Pray and give!

Surgery

Surgery was a long time coming yesterday, but he surgeon was able to work as planned with no problems. Robert will be in the hospital for a couple of days. Please continue to pray for him and his family.

Women on Mission

The ladies met Sunday. In addition to our program, we also focused on the election of officers. Pray for the ladies as we make a difference in our ladies, our girls, our church, our community, and our world.

Our first mission projects were hosting an associational meeting and learning about/giving to the Georgia Barnette Offering for Louisiana.

Our second mission project will be in a few weeks. If you would like to be involved in an active mission organization, please talk with Mindy Ballard, Amy McDaniel, or any other member. We will be teaching our girls and ladies about loving and ministering to older adults in our community.

Thank-you to several of you who have asked this week about what we need to complete our Shoeboxes.

Thank-you to the lady who lives in another town, but sends a donation periodically to help with our expenses. David and I will be shopping this afternoon to purchase dolls and calculators.

We have not received the cartons we need as a collection site, but they are scheduled to arrive in our area later this month. What we actually do will change, but the final goal is the same!

Thank you for “tuning in” today and for praying.
