MONDAY

Verse of the Day

My precious sister Rayma,

may God’s Words and Spirit bring you strength and comfort

today and through these trials.

He is for you, He is with you, He is in you.

John 8:30

Prayer Focus for Today

Today, let’s say prayers throughout the day for the people of North Carolina mountains who received up to 30 inches of rain as Hurricane Helene visited them last week. The pictures I have seen are horrifying. Let’s also thank God for the many people who are trying to get to these people to help them, but even the roads have been washed away. I heard on the television some places in that area had 30+ inches of rain. That much rain would be bad on flat land, but surely much worse in the mountains!

I also ask you to pray for our granddaughter who is a student in Augusta, GA. She and two or three other students rented a house there while in college this year. Helene visited them too and caused trees to fall on every house but one in her block. The girls had one tree to fall taking out the chimney and part of a bedroom wall. Another tree fell on the carport causing the cars to be trapped. Her parents went to Augusta to get her to take her home. I don’t know anything about the nearby school. This was surely a horrifying experience for the young ladies, but it is nothing compared to what happened in the mountains of North Carolina.

Surgery

Pray for Robert Wilson as he has surgery today in Hammond. Pray for Ora Lee too.

FBC Kentwood

Yesterday, we all got to experience something rather unique. Four adults (two couples) were baptized. God works in many hearts. Thank you, God, for letting me be involved in a church where You are working like we have seen in the last couple of years. Thank you, God, for many people who are allowing God to work in and through them.

Women on Mission

We now have officers selected and will work under the leadership of Mindy Ballard and Amy McDaniel. We also have plans for our first mission outreach in the community. That will be in two weeks. Thank God for the willing ladies who will serve in all the positions of leadership.

OCC

We have almost come to the end of our purchasing for 2024 Shoe Boxes. We are short about a dozen calculators and about twice that many dolls. Hopefully, we’ll be able to locate them this week. Pray for us to find dolls and calculators.

Thanks for your patience this morning.

This has just taken longer than usual.
