Update on Dorthy Wall
Dorothy broke her hip Sunday evening. She had x-rays at Hood Memorial. After the results of the broken hip, were delivered, she was admitted to North Oaks. She had a clean break of her hip. Surgery was done early yesterday morning. All went well.Rehab will follow.
Prayer Focus Today
Today, let’s pray for all those who are not real pleased with their current job for some reason. Let’s pray for them to move on or to become happier where they are, not to stay if they cannot get happy.

Carolyn Jean Travis McMillan
September 7, 1952 – August 18, 2024

A resident of Kentwood, LA, passed away on Sunday, August 18, 2024 at Ochsner Medical Center in New Orleans, LA. She was born September 7, 1952 in Magnolia, MS and was 71 years of age. She was a life-long member of New Zion Baptist Church where she was an active member of Faith Sunday School Class and loved working with the children on Wednesday Nights. Carolyn was an active member of Sister’s in Christ and Young in Heart Group. She loved her monthly sewing group and loved to make quilts for her family and friends. She was an excellent cook and loved to feed everyone. She is survived by her husband of 53 years, Aubrey Lee McMillan; 3 sons, Jeremey R. McMillan, Spencer L. McMillan and wife, Angela, and Adam L. McMillan and wife, Heather; grandchildren, Morgan, Dalton, Caitlin, Landon, Bracy, Lana and Lila McMillan; 2 great-grandsons, Eli and Ian LeBlanc; brother, George Lee Travis; sister, Lesa Casey and husband, Henry. Preceded in death by parents, John W. “Jay” Travis and Joyce McNabb Travis; and a sister-in-law, Rachel Crawford Travis. Visitation at New Zion Baptist Church, Kentwood, from 6:00PM until 9:00PM on Wednesday and from 9:00AM until religious services at 11:00AM on Thursday, August 22, 2024. Services conducted by Rev. Caleb Cleveland. Interment New Zion Cemetery, Kentwood, LA. Pallbearers will be Hardy McMillan, Mackie McMillan, David Casey, Chris Casey, John Travis, Landon McMillan, and Dalton McMillan. We are close enough to having what we need to turn some of our thoughts to packing parties. These dates will be selected soon. Thanks for all your support. We only have one more big step – collecting money for postage. That is usually not a problem. We all want those packed shoeboxes to make it to the children!
