Pray for Jesse Dean. He has been moved to rehab for two weeks to get therapy to help him recover from his foot surgery.

Susie Myrl Jacobsen

Susie Myrl Jacobsen “Aunt Sue”of Independence, passed away at 91 years old on Thursday, August 15, 2024. She was born in Independence to Myrl Jacobsen “Papa Jake” and Ruby Carney Jacobsen “Momo” on November 29, 1932. She was a member of Union Baptist Church. She worked at Greenwell Springs Hospital and retired after 30 years. Although she didn’t have children, she was Aunt Sue to everyone she met and like a grandmother to most of us. After she retired, she spent a lot of time tending to all her nieces and nephews from picking children up from school, taking them on field trips, vacations, buying things the parents thought they didn’t need, and helping anyway she could. She will be missed by all that knew her. She was survived by 2 nieces, 3 nephews, 2 great nieces, 4 great nephews, 5 great great nieces, and 2 great great nephews and many cousins and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Ruby Lee Johnson and her husband, Luther Johnson, and Annette Vicknair; niece, Shyral LaMarca and nephew, AJ LaMarca, great niece, Madison Peco. Visitation will be held at McKneely Funeral Home, Amite, from 8:00am until religious services at 11:00am on Wednesday, August 21, 2024. Services conducted by Rev. Cecil Burch. Lorese “Sally” McDaniel Hyde Higgins

April 15, 1933 – August 16, 2024

A resident of Baton Rouge, LA, passed away on Friday, August 16, 2024 at The Claiborne in Baton Rouge, LA. She was born April 15, 1933 in Spring Creek, LA and was 91 years of age. She was a retired dairy farmer and an active member of the Kentwood Garden Club. Sally was a member of Spring Creek Baptist Church and Line Creek Baptist Church. She is survived by daughter, Barbara Duncan and husband, Dale; grandchildren, Sherrie Threeton, Wendy Duncan, Charles Alford, Michael Alford, Tressie Phelps, Sally Strickland, Amy Skinner, Rachel Byrne, Billy Byrne, Ethan Byrne, Jeremy Byrne, Cory Byrne, Houston Byrne, Mary Lipsey; numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by husbands, Charles Ellis Hyde and Woodrow Higgins; 2 daughters, Donis Hyde Byrne and Linda Hyde Travis; granddaughter, Vicky Duncan; parents, Elias Balaam McDaniel and Mary Elma Corkern McDaniel; 2 brothers, Rex McDaniel and Voit McDaniel; sister, Mildred McDaniel. Susan Bahm Genre

February 28, 1961 – August 16, 2024

Susan Bahm Genre, a resident of Hammond, LA and native of Mount Hermon, LA, passed away peacefully at 11pm on August 16, 2024 at 11pm at The Lodge at Tangi Pines Nursing Home. She is survived by her brother Mark Stanley Bahm. She is preceded in death by her parents Tessie Elnora Bahm and Linston Bahm and 2 siblings Harry and Alan Schilling. Susan Genre was the type of person that lived life to the fullest and enjoyed every moment. Her family and friends wish to thank the staff at The Lodge at Tangi Pines for providing excellent care and compassion to Susan during her last years of life.
