Health Concerns

*Ruby Travis is now home. Barrett is her nurse. They are doing fine.

*Bro. Darrell is doing well in his regular hospital room. He can now have P.T. which will help him improve faster. I know he and Laurie are dreaming of returning to Kentwood soon.

David Dillan Vining

September 19, 1941 – February 23, 2024

A resident of Amite, LA, passed away on Friday, February 23, 2024 at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was born September 19, 1941 in Independence, LA and was 82 years of age. David was a lifelong member of First Baptist Church in Amite and served as a deacon for over 50 years. He is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Carleen O. Vining; 2 sons, Mark D. Vining and Vaughn O. Vining and wife, Celeste; sister, Virgie Vining Morgan; 11 grandchildren, Carlie White and husband Cody, Dillan Vining and wife Sadie, Casie Bauerle and husband Colby, Darian Vining and fiance Joshua Hebert, Caitlyn Taylor and husband, Levi, and Dane Vining; 4 great-grandchildren, Lane Christ, Laikyn Christ, Briggs Vining, and Evyn White; 2 sisters-in-law, Grace P. Vining and Judy A. Owen; and numerous nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by parents, Edwin J. Vining, Sr. and Estelle Starns Vining; brothers and sisters, James L. Vining and wife Mary, John W. Vining and wife Yvonne; Abbie V. Pasko and husband Ed, Dorothy V. Vallence, Juanita V. Campbell and husband Bill, Edwina V. Ballard and husband Shelton, Edwin J. Vining, Jr., and Gloria V. Hood and husband Arthur; brothers-in-law, Eugene Kenyon Owen, Earl Morgan, and James Morgan; sister-in-law, Freda Estelle Owen; great-granddaughter, Carsyn Rae Bauerle. We saw Mr. David and his wife at John Morgan’s wake/funeral last month. They have been an amazing couple as long as I can remember.

WMU

There will be a WMU meeting at 10 A.M. Saturday morning at Montpelier Baptist Church. The focus will be on the Annie Armstrong Offering for North America. A pot-luck lunch will follow the meeting. All ladies are invited. I hope to see you there.
