December 12, 1947 – September 29, 2023

A resident of Kentwood, LA, passed away on Friday, September 29, 2023 at North Oaks Medical Center in Hammond, LA. He was born December 12, 1947 in McComb, MS and was 75 years of age. He was a U. S. Air Force Veteran of Vietnam and retired from Pipefitter’s Local #198. He is survived by 2 daughters, Ronnda Hammons Morris (Mike Morris) and Robin Hammons-Smith (Horace Smith); 4 grandsons, Dakota Hammons, Dennis Morton, II, Javeon Smith, and Anthony Smith; significant other, Bonnie Hunter; sister, Judy Hammons Aleman (Donald Peter Aleman); brother, Virgil “Butch” Hammons, Jr. (Ingrid Astacio); nephews, Donald Aleman, Garic Aleman, Jason Aleman, Todd Eric Hammons, and Terry Scott Hammons; special nephews, John Muse and Brock Muse. Preceded in death by parents, Virgil Hammons, Sr. and Estelle Lorraine Hammons. Visitation at McKneely Funeral Home, Kentwood, from 9:00AM until religious services at 11:00AM on Tuesday, October 3, 2023. Services conducted by Dr. Danny Smith.
