January 4, 1958 – August 27, 2023
A resident of Hammond, LA, passed away on Sunday, August 27, 2023. He was born January 4, 1958 in New Orleans, LA and was 65 years of age. Visitation at McKneely Funeral Home, Amite, from 4:00PM until 8:00PM with a Memorial Service at 7:00PM on Thursday, Aug. 31, 2023. Visitation at Holy Ghost Catholic Church, Hammond, from 9:00AM until Memorial Mass at 11:00AM on Friday, September 1, 2023 conducted by Fr. Cayet Mangiaracina. BIBLE STUDY OPPORTUNITY
Kathy C. Wales will be leading/teaching a Bible study at Pine Ridge Methodist Church on Wednesdays at 1 P.M., with another group on Sundays at 5 P.M. The book Woven by Angie Smith will be studied. I started reading it late yesterday afternoon and enjoyed both her material covered and writing style. If you are interested in attending, please contact Kathy and purchase a book online or locally. There is no workbook, but bring your Bible with the book for class.
The first Wednesday class will be on September 6th. I am assuming the first Sunday class will be September 2nd. If I am wrong, Kathy ,or one of the other ladies, will correct me and I can post the correction tomorrow. She would love to have you participate. Contact her for more information.
The Week of Prayer, the first week of September, will focus on Louisiana missions and is named for Georgia Barnette, a WMU lady from our state who was very active in encouraging mission work in our state.

Today, let’s pray for the state of Florida as a hurricane will be striking from the southwest this morning. Pray people took heed of the warnings and will be safe. Hurricane IDALIA is both large and powerful! Pray for those who are/will be working to keep others safe. Pray for both residents and travelers.
