Bonnie Jean Hoyt Thompson
May 3, 1933 – August 25, 2023

Bonnie Jean Hoyt Thompson was born on May 3, 1933. Bonnie lived a happy and prosperous life with her husband, Walter Thompson III (Buster), as life-long residents of Hillsdale, La.
In the comfort of her home, with her best friend and care-giver, Linda Davis, known to those closest to her as Lee Lee, Bonnie went to sleep and awoke in her eternal home in Heaven on August 25, 2023. Bonnie was lovingly reunited with her husband of 66 years.
She was a member of Hillsdale Baptist Church. Bonnie spent her working days waking to milk on their dairy farm and reporting to work as a telephone operator at South Central Bell before returning home to evening dairy chores and milking. Despite her full workload, she prepared home cooked meals for breakfast and dinner for her husband.
She was survived by her sister in law, Ramona Powers; nieces, Charel Kennedy and Ramona “Baby” Elam; great nieces, Megan Wagner, Sarah Savoy, and Carmen Elam; nephew, Billy Cox; great nephews, Chris Peairs and Hill Savoy, as well as numerous other nephews and nieces. Bonnie was blessed with “her girls” and their families, Jessica Dupepe (Greg), Jennie Perkins (Corey), Bonnie Jordan (Brooks), Brady (Lana), Emma Kate, Court, Kaul, Kade, Bennett, and Blinn. Bonnie was greeted in heaven by her parents, Charlie and Margie Hoyt; sister, Betty Hoyt Cox; brother in law, Gene Cox; nephew, Peavy Powers; mother and father in law, Walter and Rita Thompson; and a special nephew, better known as a grandson, Blaine Milton.
Pallbearers are Davin Booty, Brady Milton, Court Milton, Kaul Perkins, Kade Perkins, Blinn Brooks, Hill Savoy, and Chris Peairs.
Visitation will be at Hillsdale Baptist Church from 8-10 am on August 29, 2023 with service beginning at 10 am. Services conducted by Rev. Darryl Miller. Interment Roberts Cemetery, Hillsdale, Amite, LA. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Robert Cemetery Fund, c/o Teddie Thompson, 9870 Hwy 441, Amite, LA 70422 or to Hillsdale Baptist Church, 3621 Highway 1045, Amite, LA 70422. McKneely Funeral Home, Amite, in charge of arrangements.
