Jeannette Bergeron Russell
November 11, 1933 – August 21, 2023

Jeannette Bergeron Russell, passed away Monday, August 21, 2023, at 2:59pm, at Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center in Baton Rouge. She was born November 11, 1933 and was 89 years old. A native of New Orleans and a resident of Amite for the past 60 years. She was a retired dairy farmer. Survived by her loving daughter, Nancy Russell Terrebonne, Prairieville, grandchildren Julie Terrebonne Roussel, (Kent), Prairieville, John “Lil John”Terrebonne Jr., (Marci), Gonzales, Peggy “PJ” Perkins, Shreveport. Great grandchildren Shelbi and Kye Terrebonne and Beau and Kenlie Roussel. Mother in law of John Terrebonne Sr. and Jeaniene St. Pierre. She was a 5th generation Aunt and had numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 51 years, Raphael “Apple” Russell, her parents, Raoul and Edna Bergeron, sisters Mildred Watts, Marion St. Pierre, and Ethel Pons. Also Mother of JoAnn Russell Perkins, Texas, granddaughter, Johnette Perkins Hancock, Texas and great grandmother of Catherine and CJ Monaghan, Texas. She was an excellent cook and baker and loved doing her “Search a Word” puzzles. It was her tradition to send birthday and anniversary cards to everyone she knew and loved. She was a devoted Catholic and loved by all. Visitation at McKneely Funeral Home, Amite, from 5:00PM until 9:00PM on Thursday and from 8:00AM until 10:30AM on Friday, August 25, 2023. Religious Services at St. Dominic Catholic Church at 11:00AM on Friday. Services conducted by Fr. Rueben Dykes. Interment St. Dominic Mausoleum, Husser, LA. Pray for Mrs. Ruth Cutrer of Kentwood as she has knee replacement surgery today. Pray for her family as they continue to work and to care for her as she heals.
