Glen Magee, Sr. had surgery today.  Because of a bleed, he had to go back for more surgery.  He’s okay, but still in ICU.

 

 

Bryan Tate is back at M.D. Anderson.

 

 

David is in Ochsner on O’Neal and having lots of tests and procedures.

Mrs. Beverly Duncan, who is widely known as a Valley Forge teacher passed away.

Belvery White Duncan

July 25, 1940 – January 13, 2019

It is with great sadness that the family of Belvery White Duncan announces her passing Sunday, January 13, 2019 at the age of 78. Belvery will be lovingly remembered by her husband Huey Duncan, whom she had spent 56 loving years with and her son David. Belvery was born July 25, 1940 in Philadelphia MS to Clyde Lee White and Novelle (Barrett) White. She graduated from Philadelphia High school and University of Southern Mississippi with a BS in Education. For the past 53 years Belvery has been a long-time resident of Amite LA. Belvery was a longstanding member of Sharon Missionary Baptist church in Amite, LA. Belvery taught school for 18 years, Insurance Agent for 11 years, and worked for Duncan and Associate Right away Consulting with her husband for 20 years. She was an avid Motorcyclist enthusiast and toured all 48 states and most of Canada as well as being a long-standing member of the Holiday Rambler Pine-belt motor home club, both of which created long time friendships all over the country.
Belvery will be forever remembered by her husband and best friend Huey and her son David (Catherine). Her granddaughter Sydney Duncan-Wilmoth (Brandon) and 3 great grandsons, her sister Sylvia White Mars, and sister in laws Anna Lofton White and Joyce White and many nieces, nephews and extended family and dear friends. Belvery was preceded in death by her son, Walter Craig Duncan, parents Clyde and Norvelle White, brothers Chadwic White, Hassill White, L.C. White and sister Vonceil White Lety. Larry Eugene Deaton

June 12, 1960 – January 13, 2019

Larry Eugene Deaton was born on June 12, 1960 to Darwin “Dabo” Deaton and Maxine Cummings Deaton. Larry was survived by his wife, Daphne Amanda Swearingen Deaton; his son, Darris Marshall Deaton; daughter, Jocelyn Glass Burkes and husband, Andrew; son, Jordan Glass and wife, Meghan; son, Dwayne Eldridge and wife, Bevin. Larry treasured his grandchildren and loved spending time with them. He gave each one a nickname: Duely Wyatt Deaton “Dude”, Dana Elizabeth Deaton “Toog”, Charleigh Jayne Deaton “Chuck”, Paisleigh Olivia Burkes “Petunia”, Ella Grace Glass “Sweet Pea”, and Allen Wayne Eldridge “Noodle”. Larry was survived by his siblings, Sandra Gelatt and husband, Skip, John Deaton and wife, Georgia; brother-in-law, Richard Swearingen and wife, Shannon; his many nieces and nephews, Emily Clark and husband, Adam, Ryan Gelatt, Jacob Deaton, Jordan Deaton, Genna Deaton, Justin Deaton, Madison Swearingen, and Jeffrey Swearingen; and his mother-in-law, Daphne Capps. Larry volunteered as a teenager and as an adult at the Eastside Fire Department in East Baton Rouge. He lived to go fishing and hunting in Columbia, LA, J.C. Camp in Bude, MS, and Lake Mary in Woodville, MS. He was a master plumber and master gas fitter. He made many life-long friends through work, fishing, and hunting. He started his own business in 2003 and lived in Kentwood, LA. Visitation at McKneely Funeral Home, Kentwood, from 5:00PM until 9:00PM on Wednesday and from 8:00AM until religious services at 10:00AM on Thursday, January 17, 2019. James “Boe” Walter Archer, Jr.

February 18, 1942 – January 13, 2019

A resident of Kentwood passed away on Sunday, January 13, 2019 at his home. He was born February 18, 1942 in Jacksonville, FL and was 76 years of age. He was a member of Beulah Landmark Missionary Baptist Church. He is survived by sister, Lillie Ann Purvis, McComb, MS; nephew, Russell Lee Purvis; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Preceded in death by parents, James Walter Archer, Sr. and Essie Grace Archer; nephew, John Arthur Purvis.
