Linda Hornsby-Craddock is doing better.  Surgery will be scheduled for a later date and possible not even be necessary.

 

 

Adrian Phillips is in Lakeview.  He had a port reconstructed, but that didn’t work as hope, so he had to have a second surgeery.  Please pray for him, his family. and his medical team.

 

 

 

Chad Beadle of Osyka passed away.  His obituary is not available yet.  Please say special prayers for his wife, Angela, and their three daughters.

 

 

Mathilde “Tillie” Lopinto

April 23, 1927 – May 16, 2018

Mathilde “Tillie” Lopinto, a resident of Independence, passed away on May 16, 2018.  She was born on April 23, 1927 in Ghent, Belgium.  She is survived by her children and their spouses, Joseph R. and Velvet Lopinto and Marilyn and Jerome Rivet; her grandchildren and their spouses: Brian and Amy Rivet, Eric and Katie Rivet, Crystal and J.R. Alexander, Michael and Rachel Davis, and Cara Lyn and Dustin Reno;  her great-grandchildren John Rivet, Evan Alexander, Aubree and Colby Davis and Emmet Reno.  She was preceded in death by her husband Joseph P. Lopinto, her parents Angelus and Emerance Boelens, her sisters Angelle and Georgette and her brothers Frans and Maurice.  She was a member of Mater Dolorosa Catholic Church.  Visitation at Mater Dolorosa Catholic Church in Independence at 9 AM until Mass of Christian Burial at 11 AM on Monday, May 21, 2018.  Interment to follow at Colonial Mausoleum, Independence.  In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or Mater Dolorosa Catholic Church. Jerry Patrick Fairburn

A resident of Kentwood passed away on Thursday, May 17, 2018 at Kentwood Manor Nursing Home. He was born July 17, 1967 in Independence  and was 50 years of age. He is survived by 2 sisters, Shirley and Alan Simmons, Amite, and Cathy and Dudley McIntyre, Amite; nieces and nephews, Charles and Erica Lebo, Lacey and Brandon Joiner, Robert and Jennifer Crotwell, Regina and Benny Basso, Ashley and James Stilley, James Simmons, Jr. and Tiffany Cooper, and Jonathan Hart; great nieces, Hallie Lebo Royals and Jacob Provstgaard, Abigail Basso, Jasmine Joiner, Kenzie Crotwell, and Harley Basso. Preceded in death by parents, Luther Fairburn, Sr. and Louvernia Lebo Fairburn; brother, Luther “Peerod” Fairburn, Jr.; sister, Alice Jo Fairburn Robertson; brother in law, Richard Crotwell, Sr.; nephews, Richard Crotwell, Jr. and Justin Simmons.
