Wednesday

In the same way, faith by itself,

if it is not accompanied by action, is dead.

~James 2:17~

Betty Simpson is having a problem with bursitis in her left shoulder.  Let’s pray she gets to feeling better real soon.

Jeffrey Brister‘s surgery for complete shoulder replacement went well.  Now, the time for recovery and therapy will begin.  Pray he gets full use of his shoulder and arm.

Bobby Forbes is home and feeling so much better.  Thank you for your prayers.  Keep praying for the lab reports that are due later this week.

I’ve been watching some weather maps showing a renewed Gulf storm named Harvey.  It looks like we are in for lots of rain.  Let’s pray He blows himself out before reaching us.

Children in Action will meet at 6 P.M. tonight at FBC, Kentwood.

The Friday Morning Bible Study will NOT meet this week.  We will meet the following Friday at 10 A.M.

We had a nice “Young” Ladies’ Birthday Party yesterday.  Next month, we will meet September 26th.

Don’t forget your items for the Fall Food Round-Up.  Leave them under the stairwell to the church office.  The truck will be here September 18th to pick up our items for the LA Baptist Children’s Home.

Items for Operation Christmas Child can be left in my classroom or in the box under the stairs to the balcony.  This week, we are collecting bandanas.  The following week we will focus on brushes and combs.  We could use a few more boxes of markers, highlighters, crayons, pencils, pens, and calculators.                                                               We are progressing well.  We have been working a little each week to keep everything organized.  I get excited every time I get to work there.   If you want to help some, please let me know.

Have a wonderful day today.
