Monday

“Now he who plants and he who waters are one,

and each one will receive his own reward

according to his own labor.

For we are God’s fellow workers.”

~1 Corinthians 3:8-9a, NJKV~

Associational Thrift Store/Food Pantry

  • A new ministry will soon be open to those in our area.  It will be located on highway 51 in Roseland about a half block north of the Malt Shop.
  • Volunteers will be needed to help in both the thrift store and the food pantry.
  • Anyone will be able to make purchases at the thrift store.
  • Those who qualify will be able to receive free items from the thrift store and/or the food pantry.
  • Men, ladies, and youth will have a new ministry opportunity.

Women’s Ministry

  • Friday Morning Bible Study
    • We will not meet Friday due to the holiday.
    • When we meet the following Friday we will have a sack lunch together in the fellowship hall following our study.  We had an introduction to our new unit Friday and will focus on the first two deadly sins when we meet.
  • God’s Storehouse
    • June has focused on collection of jelly to be distributed to families in need.
    • Delivery to God’s Storehouse will probably be made Thursday morning, so get your jelly in by Wednesday.
    • Each jar of jelly will have a label with John 3:16 so the user will be reminded of God’s love for them each time they see the jar.
    • July will focus of red beans and rice.
    • We will collect one pound bags of dry red beans and one pound bags of rice.
    • These items can be delivered to the stairwell at the office entrance to FBC, Kentwood.
  • Frozen Food for a Family

This will be our fourth month to deliver gallon size freezer bags of food to a local  family.  To join in, please being your frozen food to my Sunday School classroom before Sunday School the first Sunday of each month.  When you cook for your family, it’s easy to cook a little more to share.  Some of the foods we have delivered are gumbo, red beans & rice, chicken spaghetti, and jambalaya.  Be creative.  Delivery will be made Sunday afternoon.  The family is very appreciative.

  • Ladies Night
    • Our June meeting was all about purses.  Our attendance was good, but probably would have been better if the weather had not been so bad.  The ladies who attended had a good time and left with a “happy” purse to share with someone of their choice.
    • Our August meeting will be an ice cream party.  We will have our planning meeting soon to get it organized and “rolling”.
  • “Young” Ladies’ Birthday Party
    • Meet at The Cafe in Kentwood
    • Fourth Tuesday of each month.
    • 11:00 A.M.

Ladies, there are many ways to be involved in women’s ministry.  Try a new one and feel more connected with the other ladies.
