Kenneth Jerome Crawford, Sr.
(September 1, 1936 – May 1, 2013)

A resident of Kentwood, he died on Wednesday, May 1, 2013 at his home. He was born September 1, 1936 in Pearl River and was 76 years of age. Mr. Crawford was a U.S. Army Veteran. He was a graduate of Southeastern Louisiana University with a master’s plus thirty and was known as “Coach Crawford” when he coached and taught at Greensburg High School. He was an Education Assessment Teacher with Special Education in Tangipahoa Parish. He is survived by his wife, Peggy Travis Crawford, Kentwood; 1 son, Kenneth Jerome Crawford, Jr. and wife, Cherie, Kentwood; 2 daughters, Cyndie Crawford Fussell and husband, Ken, Hammond, and Karen Crawford Daniel and husband, Howard, Kentwood; 10 grandchildren, Kenneth J. Crawford, III, Celia Crawford Wortham, Shelly Crawford, Christopher Crawford, Ryan Scott Fussell, Meghan Fussell, Brittany Wild, Sherrie Daniel, Shayna Daniel, and John Wyatt Daniel; 1 sister, Ginger Crawford, Pearl River; 1 brother, Wayne Crawford, Givens, WV. Preceded in death by parents, Alvin and Marie Crawford, brother, Donald Crawford, and 2 sisters, Shirley Morgan and Kathleen Bordelon. A private memorial service will be held at a later date.  Donald H Hammons, Sr.
(April 4, 1945 – April 30, 2013)

A resident of Roseland, died at 11:35 p.m. on Tuesday, April 30, 2013 at Louisiana Heart Hospital in Lacombe. He was born April 4, 1945 in Amite and was 68 years of age. Survived by 2 sons, Donald H. Hammons, Jr and wife, Lori, Amite, and Joseph Hammons, Kentwood; 2 daughters, Donna Richardson and husband, Gray, Roseland, and Samantha Hammons and Anthony Guzzardo, Kentwood; 7 grandchildren, Danyelle Thornton, Sara Hammons, Garrett Hammons, Brandon Hammons, Graysen Richardson, Masen Richardson and Khloe Guzzardo; 2 great grandchildren, Annabelle and Adelyn Thornton; sister, Mary Prescott, Kentwood; brother, Leroy Wilson, Shreveport. Preceded in death by wife, Sharon Noto Hammons; parents, Pat and Doris Hammons; and brother, Patrick S. Hammons. He was a U.S. Army Veteran and a retired major with the Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff’s Office. He was also former chief of police for the Town of Roseland. Visitation at Roseland Baptist Church, Arcola, after 6:00 p.m. Thursday, and from 10:00 a.m. until religious services at 2:00 pm. on Friday, May 3, 2013. Interment Arcola-Roseland Cemetery, Arcola.
