Sunday

“Still, if you set your heart on God and reach out to him,

If you scrub your hands of sin and refuse to entertain evil in your home,

You’ll be able to face the world unashamed and keep a firm grip on life, guiltless and fearless.

You’ll forget your troubles; they’ll be like old, faded photographs.”

~Job 11:13-16 MSG~

Daily Encouragement from Bude Church of God

Corrie Ten Boom once said, “Often I have heard people say, “How good God is! We prayed that it would not rain for our church picnic, and look at the lovely weather!” Yes, God is good when He sends good weather. But God was also good when He allowed my sister, Betsie, to starve to death before my eyes in a German concentration camp. I remember one occasion when I was very discouraged there. Everyth

ing around us was dark, and there was darkness in my heart. I remember telling Betsie that I thought God had forgotten us. “No, Corrie,” said Betsie, “He has not forgotten us. Remember His Word: “For as the heavens are high above the earth, so great is His steadfast love toward those who fear Him.” Corrie concludes, “There is an ocean of God’s love available – there is plenty for everyone. May God grant you never to doubt that victorious love – whatever the circumstances.”God’s Word is TRUTH…His Word promises that He will strengthen us, guide us, uphold us, never leave us nor forsake us, encourage us, comfort us, and best of all, His Word promises that He has gone to prepare a place for us so that one day we will be at home, our heavenly home, with Him forever!! Be encouraged that this TRUTH sets us free, regardless of whatever earthly, temporary circumstances we may face.

Thursday

“Do not be afraid;

keep on speaking, do not be silent.”

~Acts 18:9b NIV~

Susan  Rimes is doing better.  Katie says she can see the end of all the kidney stone problems her mother has been having.

Greg  Tanner’s memorial service was well attended.  The Scripture used was from I Corinthians 15.  Greg had lots of friends who all know Greg has been welcomed into Heaven.  Pastor Jeff McKneely said something to the effect of “Greg was a father to those who needed a father, a friend to those who needed a friend, and a husband to, no offense, Susan, to the widows who needed a husband”.

Pray for trouble at/in out embassies.  Pray for wisdom to those who have the power to stop the process.

There will be a WMU meeting tonight at 6 P.M. in the fellowship hall of FBC.  All ladies are welcomed.

The Georgia Barnette Offering for missions in our state will begin a week of prayer Sunday.  Pray for God to open your eyes to spiritual needs here in Louisiana.
