Stacey went for check up yesterday. They took her drain out and she is very relieved. It didn’t hurt but it did bother her a good bit. The stitches look good and appear to be healing. We are to keep the area dry and monitor for redness and skin break down. Otherwise we go back next Monday. Stitches will probably stay in for at least 14 days. The discomfort is minimal and she has to be watched to keep her from doing to much. She is bored and sick and tired of being sick. Thanks to all of you for your continued prayers, calls and encouragement.
Actually things are looking up, Mom is better after the back surgery and is getting around a little. It has really slowed her down and she is not too happy about that. Pat’s eye is getting better but he has to have surgery on his vocal cords again as soon as they can schedule it. Kaely’s eyes are okay now. All the rest of us are still standing so that’s a good thing

Dear Intercessors, this is Eleanor Witcher of the Office of Global Prayer Strategy, asking you to pray for women.
The Wassulu Team asks prayer for the Garden Project in village B2, especially the chosen widows and other women who are gardening there. Pray that new wells will provide a good and steady water supply and that their initial harvests will yield plenty for their families as well as enough to share and sell.
Those working with Assamese Muslims of India give thanks to the Lord for new teammates. A new journeyman is currently in language learning, and she will begin a teacher-training program with women. Two new ‘Hands On’ personnel will be teaching the program of Teachers of English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL) to women who have a desire to learn conversational English.
In Dakar, Senegal, MA told the missionary that she needed to talk–she had been thinking about the Bible stories. After considering the cost, she had decided to become a follower of Jesus. As the missionary went through the steps, MA expressed that she understood completely, and also knew that if she became His follower, she could lose her children. She said that she had to follow the “way of Jesus”. MA then prayed and asked Christ to forgive her and become her Savior. She began sharing her faith with her children in the evenings. MA is reading her Bible daily and then sharing with her family what she has read. She went to visit a very close friend and witnessed to her friend, telling her all that God was teaching her and what a blessing it was to be His follower.
* Please pray that MA will continue to grow strong in her faith and be obedient in baptism.
* Pray for new workers among the Assamese to integrate quickly into the community through these training programs.
* Intercede for the Wassulu women that they will clearly hear the message of Jesus through His parables and receive His salvation.

ALMOST IMMEDIATELY AFTER crossing the Red Sea, the Israelites all got sick…
They all caught a deadly virus. It was far more virulent and lethal than the SARS virus that brought death an destruction to our world. It was the G virus — the “grumble” germ…
All but two occurrences of “grumbling” in the Old Testament are found in six chapters of the Pentateuch: Exodus 15, 16, and 17, and Numbers 14, 16, and 17. Of all the sins of the fathers, God counted this one of the worst. It is one of Satan’s most effective weapons because it robs us of God and robs God of us!
Sometimes learning what God thinks about our grumbles helps us to deal with them. First of all, God hears us when we gripe and grumble. Numbers 11:18 says, “The LORD heard you when you wailed.” Over and over again the Bible says that God heard the Israelites’ griping and their grumbling. We need to know that God doesn’t want to hear it!
Our son and daughter-in-law have seven children. There is a sign displayed in a prominent place in their kitchen that says briefly and succintly: “No whining!” Whining is unacceptable behavior to those parents, and it is unacceptable to God . It poisons the environment and spoils relationships. It makes God sad to hear us whine, and it also makes Him mad! “Now the people complained about their hardships in the hearing of the LORD. And when He heard them His anger was aroused” (Numbers 11:1). God wants us to know that wailing and whining are unacceptable behaviors. A resident of Baton Rouge, she died at 11:45 a.m. on Monday, February 21, 2011 at Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center in Baton Rouge. She was born January 18, 1930 in Birmingham, AL and was 81 years of age. Survived by 2 daughters, Patricia Mulina, Houston, TX, and Lynette Ivanyisky and her husband, Alan, Albany, son, David Mulina, Fishers, IN, sister, Lelia Cox, Amite, brother, Herbert Hayden and his wife, Amanda, Navasota, TX, 12 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by parents, Elmer and Mary Dykes Hayden, 2 daughters, Imogene Brown and Dianne Moore, son, Larry Wayne Mulina, 3 brothers, Earl Hayden, Aubrey Hayden, and Huey Hayden. A very special thanks to the staff at Ollie Steel Burden Manor for providing our mother with care, compassion and a loving environment for the past 4 years. Jadon’s Story: Hospital Update
I had a horrible day yesterday. I woke up and had about 30 spasms. They still looked different but were still not intense. We went to church and then went back home for the rest of the day. I continued to have them but again they weren’t very intense. I was very fussy yesterday and didn’t nap much. I finally got a good nap around 5pm. When I woke up is when it started. I was having really intense seizures not spasms. They only lasted about 5 seconds at a time but they continued to cluster for over 20 minutes back to back. It scared my mommy and daddy. It’s amazing how long 5 seconds can be. Not to mention we are over an hour away from Childrens. My mommy immediately called the neurologist on call. The on call doctor called our neurologist and they told us to come to the ER. My seizures stopped on the way to the hospital. I did have a few right when we walked in but not many. They started back up around 11:15 pm. They gave me ativan and it helped calm things down. After being in the ER for 5 hours we finally got to our room. I did fine the rest of the night. When I woke up this morning I only had about 12 of the little not intense seizures. So what is the plan? They are going to increase my vimpat and give it through IV today to get it in my system quickly. They are then going to do an EEG tomorrow. They want the ativan to get completely out of my system so we can see what’s going on. The results of the EEG will tell us what to do next. We have discussed 3 different options but we have to wait until after the EEG. I don’t have much good news but the good news is they think that I have some kind of viral infection. My body is covered in a rash. This is good because that is probably what is causing the seizures to get more intense. The neurologist doesn’t think that the pednisolone is what caused the decrease. She thinks it was getting me off the topamax. So we really don’t have any answers today. We have to wait until tomorrow. We are doing much better today. Yesterday scared us pretty bad. I HATE SEIZURES!!!!! I left you a picture of me snuggling with my daddy at the hospital. I love to snuggle. Please pray for me and my family!!!

Michael W. Edwards was born October 28, 1950 and passed away at 1:47 p.m., Sunday, February 20, 2011 at St. Tammany Parish Hospital, Covington surrounded by his loving family. He was 60, a native of Franklinton and a resident of Kentwood. Michael is survived by wife, Brenda Holden Edwards, Kentwood; daughter, Natasha Tate and husband Dale, Kentwood; step-daughter, Pamela Tarver, Covington; step-son, David Dykes, Amite; 2 grandsons, Brody Dale Tate & Drew Michael Tate; granddaughter, Samantha Ann Tarver; 2 sisters, Nan Welch and husband Johnny, Kentwood & Jackie Stilley and husband Shelton, Kentwood; 2 brothers, Larry Gene Edwards and wife Benda, Kentwood & Joey Edwards, Kentwood; numerous nieces, nephews and extended family.

Anne M. Stevens died peacefully at Carpenter’s House in Baton Rouge on February 19, 2011. She was born in Algiers, Louisiana on January 13, 1922. She traveled to Amite at 15 for a summer visit and found the love of her life, Rufus Stevens. They married in 1944, and after WWII, lived the rest of their lives there. A retired banker and active in the community, she was fondly called “Miss Anne.” She is survived by one son, Dennis Stevens and wife, Connie, Prairieville, granddaughters Candace Urban and husband Blake of Prairieville, Holly Sanders and husband Aaron of Lake Jackson, TX, and Amanda Green and husband Robby of Katy, TX, a niece, Cordia Ziegler and great-nephew, Brett Ziegler. She was blessed with five great-grandchildren. Anne was preceded in death by her husband Rufus Stevens, parents Roy and Cordia Moore, stepmother Agnes Moore and sister Pearl Colomb.
