Just wanted to let everyone know kinda where we are at. We arrived at St. Jude’s today and got checked into there housing. We meet with all her doctors tomorrow and doing eye exam under anesthesia Wednesday. We will keep everyone updated as we know more. Thank you in advance for all of the prayers. We love each and everyone of y’all and are truly grateful for y’all.

Larry Carruth has completed round two of treatment.  Pray for him and his family as they see a doctor for tests to evaluation his current condition.

Pray for the Bales/Brister family as they wait another day to get a biopsy report on David.

New Zion Baptist Church is having a wonderful revival.  Services at 6:30 continue tonight and tomorrow.  Rev. Bruce Worrell is preaching.  Andy Taylor is leading music.  You only have two more opportunities to be a part of this revival.

(February 29, 1916 – September 21, 2013)

A resident of Greensburg, died at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 21, 2013 at her home in Greensburg. She was born February 29, 1916 in Liverpool and was 97 years of age. She was a retired first grade teacher from Greensburg Elementary with 36 years of service. Survived by 4 children, Janice Cambre and husband, Dr. Robert Cambre, Hammond, Hugh Sibley, Hammond, Terry Sibley and wife, Lauren, Greensburg, and Beverly Bardwell and husband, Arlon, Mt. Vernon, OH; 8 grandchildren, Rob Cambre, Brent Cambre, Tiffanie Cooper, Christine Sibley, Steven Sibley, Grant Sibley, Joshua Bardwell and Megan Miller; and 12 great grandchildren. Preceded in death by husband, Columbus T. Sibley; 2 brothers, Othello and Joe Yarborough; parents, Hugh and Susie Yarborough; daughter-in-law, Frankie Sibley. Visitation at First Baptist Church of Greensburg from 9:00 a.m. until religious services at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, September 26, 2013. Interment Greensburg Cemetery, Greensburg. Monday Afternoon

Great News!!!  Truett Strickland’s family learned today that he is fine.  His “8-9 year old body size” matches with the heart the doctors were seeing on tests Truett has undergone.  Thank God for this great news.

Ora Lee Wilson‘s surgery on her leg is still on schedule for tomorrow.  Keep her in your prayers.

Pray for Spencer Clair Webb and her family as they are at St. Jude to learn more about her problem in the eye area.

She was a former resident of Farmington, NM and Longton, KS. Survived by 2 daughters, Cheryl Groth and husband, Bob, Fredonia, KS and Tracy Sharkey and husband, Robert, Greensburg; 2 sons, Rex Mills and wife, Linda, Frontenac, KS and Roger Mills and wife, Kathy, Cleveland, MO; 15 grandchildren, Brenda, Carrie, Page, Terrie, Amy, Rex, Ryan, Bobby, Gina, Hannah, Laine, Tessa, Steven, Darren and Mallory; numerous great and great great grandchildren; sister, Elizabeth Vance, San Jose, CA and brother, John Rader, Anchorage, AK. Preceded in death by husband, George Allen Mills; parents, Major Ralph Rosco Rader and Amy Gladys Van Horn Rader; and 2 brothers, Valentine “Tim” Rader and William “Bill” Rader. Survived by 2 daughters, Amy Rankin and husband, Jeff, Travelers Rest, SC, Sandra Frazier Fornea, Cypress, TX; 2 sons, Wendell Frazier and wife, Cecilia, Petal, MS, and Nelson Frazier and wife, Patricia, Covington; 10 grandchildren, Chuck and wife, Ashley, Chip and wife, Kali and Alicia Frazier, Maria, Lauren, and Erin Frazier, Andrew and Luke Fornea, Hannah and Berakah Rankin and 4 great grandchildren; 1 sister, Shirley Von Cannon, Johnson City, TN; and 1 brother, Jerry Dale Walker, Denham Springs. Preceded in death by husband, Charles I. Frazier; parents, William and Zoe Walker; brother, Wilson Walker and son in law, Mike Fornea. At church tonight, I learned the Mrs. Sibley of Greensbury  also passed away.

A native of Baton Rouge and a resident of Denham Springs, he passed away Friday, September 20, 2013, at Tulane Medical Center in New Orleans, he was 69 and he retired from Local 198 as a pipefitter. Visitation will be held at Seale Funeral Home, Denham Springs, on Sunday, September 22, 2013 from 5:00pm until 9:00pm. Visitation will resume on Monday at 8:00am. Funeral services will be held in the funeral home Chapel at 11:00am. Burial will follow in Evergreen Memorial Park. He is survived by one son, Stephen Clark and wife Sherri L. Clark, one daughter, Sonia Lynn Clark, seven grandchildren, Ashley, Brent, Brittany, Jennah, Adrian, Stephanie, Stephen, four great grandchildren, Parker, Dakoda, Adeline and Ainsley, brother, Gerald Clark and sister, Maria Mitchell. King M. DePhillips Sr.

Harry McKneely & Son Funeral Home

King M. DePhillips Sr., 73 years old of Independence, passed away Friday, September 20, 2013, at North Oaks Medical Center.

He was born on Wednesday, August 21, 1940, in Roseland.

Mr. DePhillips served in the United States Navy.

Surviving are his wife, Linda DePhillips; sons and daughters-in-law, Michael DePhillips and Carol of Killian, and King M. DePhillips Jr. and Debbie of Independence; daughters, Tammy Tanner of Pascagoula, MS, Denise and David Blossoms of Alice Springs Australia, Tammy Martin of Zachary, Tena and Brian Taylor of Denham Springs, and Bettilee and Rowdy Albers of Independence; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren whom he loved dearly; and brothers and sisters, Kevin and Debbie Armstrong, Darrell and Linda Armstrong, Sharon and Will Reed, Barbara and David Normann.

He is preceded in death by his father, King Minote DePhillips; mother, Louise Jenkins DePhillips Armstrong and husband, Clifford Armstrong; and grandson, King Maurice “Trey” DePhillips III.

Friends will be received at Harry McKneely & Son Funeral Home in Hammond, Sunday, September 22, 2013, from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm.

Visitation will continue on Monday, from 8:00 am until the funeral service at 10:00 am in the funeral home chapel.

Interment will follow in the Narretto Cemetery in Loranger.

 

Herbert Wayne Clark, known as “Sonny”     (Brother-in-law of Ora Lee Wilson)

“Sonny” passed away yesterday afternoon.  His wake will be tomorrow night at Seal Funeral Home in Denham Springs from 6:00 – 9:00.  Visitation will continue Monday from 8:00 – the 11:00 funeral.

“Sonny” was hospitalized for 8 months, beginning about a week after his wife passed away.  The doctors and nurses called him “Poppa Sonny” since they had worked with him so long.

Pray for the family in the coming days.  Pray for those, including Dwayne Wilson, traveling for the services.

 

Also, Truette Strickland, Robert and Ora Lee’s great-grandson, has had additional tests and will see a pediatric cardiologist in Baton Rouge Monday at 10:00 to learn more about his newly diagnosed enlarged heart valve.

 

Ora Lee also shared that Rev. Merlin McCon, former pastor of Line Creek Baptist Church, has been ill for about three weeks.  You will surely want to add him to your prayer list.

Mrs. Joyce Frazier passed away.  Please be in prayer for her family.

I learned today that Keith Womack did not have a stroke.  Let’s thank God for this good news.

Pray for David Bales and his family as they await biopsy reports.
