Wendell Rhodus
I’m going to start with some wonderful news concerning Wendell Rhodus. If you have known him since he was a young boy, you will understand how God has worked in a life that has been given to Him. Wendell has been voted the Outstanding Student in the Associate Degree Program at New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary by the faculty there. He will graduate in May.

New Sign at Tangipahoa Baptist Church
Yesterday, from a distance as we approached the TBC, I noticed a new sign by the church. It is similar to the one at KHS. I smiled when I read the welcome message there and hope the church will be able to use it to encourage, comfort, inform, and invite others to join their fellowship.
Vacation Bible Schools
There is excitement in the air as area churches prepare for their summer VBSs. I will post a list of the dates later. If you want to give me the dates for VBS at your church, please send me a message.
Young at Heart
Senior adults from the area are invited to NZBC Tuesday at 10:30. James Rimes will provide the program which will be followed by a potluck meal.
Third Thursday
We will have our monthly meeting at the cabin Thursday at 6:30. Come enjoy and be blessed by some good Christian fellowship, a potluck meal, and a short program.
“Young” Ladies’ Birthday Party
The “young” ladies who have April birthdays at FBC, Kentwood will be honored Tuesday, April 22nd at 11:00 at The Cafe on highway 51 in Kentwood.
Ladies’ Night: Chocolate and Friends
Plan to attend this special night at FBC, Kentwood on April 24th. Chocolate goodies and a few other treats will be served at 6:15 with the program to follow at 6:30. There is no ticket to purchase, but a call to the church office at 229-8111 would be greatly appreciated so we can have a headcount for preparations. You are welcome to bring other ladies and girls with you, just be sure they are counted. We would like the count by the 20th. Thanks for helping in this way.

Edward Horace Hayden, Sr.
(January 15, 1930 – April 10, 2014)
A resident of Amite, he died at 9:02 p.m. on Thursday, April 10, 2014 at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was born January 15, 1930 in Amite and was 84 years of age. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Arcola. He was the owner of Hayden Tractor Company and Hayden Equipment. Survived by his wife of over 60 years, Marguerite Hayden; children, Connie Davis and husband, Glenn, Cheryl Santangelo, Edward H. Hayden, Jr. and wife, Paula, Cathy Chupko and Randy Hayden and wife, Corinna; 13 grandchildren, Katie Waldrop, Keri Elliott, Stephen Davis, Philip Davis, Corey Santangelo, Melissa Chupko, Elizabeth Torbergsen, Christina Howard, Edward H. Mrs. Hellen Morris fell at home last night. She was taken to the doctor because she hurt her leg, which is not broken, but now a brain bleed has been found. She has been air-lifted to University Hospital in Jackson, MS. The family requests your prayers.
Thursday Updates
Brent Reeves Roberts was born on April 8 which was 3 weeks early. He
is the son of Brody and Brandee Peek Roberts. He is in NICU in St.
Tammany Hospital with some problems; however, he is getting better.
Breathing problems have been resolved at this point. Now if he can get
his feeding problems resolved, he can come home. Please continue
praying for him. Also, my granddaughter, Tenley – daughter of Justin
and Megan has had some respiratory issues for a month now. Basically
she has viral bronchitis and is receiving daily breathing treatments
at this time. Please keep her in your prayers as well. Thank you, Maw
