Let all the peoples praise you.”

Jimmy Schwartz has been doing very well.  Today, he goes for a blood count.  Pray it continues to be good.  Jimmy will also see a dermatologist.  Pray for good results there.

Larry Hendry had done amazingly well.  He got off the vent yesterday evening and was eating ice.  His family thinks he is being spoiled by all the attention in the hospital.  I assume that says he is getting plenty of attention.  Keep him in your prayers.

Infant John Varnado (from Lawana Carter)

This is the last I have heard about Little John Varnado. His Maw Maw
posted this on Nov. 23. Little John is just now tonight getting
feeding tube to strength him up for a few days. Then they will stop it
for a few days, before they tried to stop the ventilater.

Macy Gueldner – Focus some of your prayer time on Macy and her family.

Holly Kliesch continues to be carefully watched.  Her unborn baby is about three weeks from his due date.  Pray for the baby, Holly, RC, and those anxious grandparents, great grandparents, aunts, uncles, etc.  God is richly blessing this baby by placing him in this special family.

Thankfulness – Day 26 – Babies

Today, I’m thankful for babies.  No, we don’t have a new baby in our family or one on the way, but I enjoy all the news and photos of babies here on the computer and in person, especially at church.  Each baby represents a new life (new personalities, new dreams, new smiles and giggles, new relationships, a blessed family, etc.)  We can all enjoy the new life of each child.  Thank God for each and every one of them.

Daily Devotional – Our Daily Bread – “Real Love”

This devotional really touches my heart as it describes the new relationship between my aunt and my cousin in Texas.  Please pray for them.

Moral Stories – “Lean from Mistakes”

http://academictips.org/blogs/learn-from-mistakes/

Unless you are not human, you have and continue to make mistakes.  Unlike Edison’s mistakes here, we often need to repent and to ask forgiveness.  Then, we need to learn from our mistakes and not repeat them.

Hymn of the Day – “A New Name in Glory”

“Where Camera Lights Don’t Shine”
This story is about IMB help that has been arriving in the Philippines since the typhoon.  You can help make more work like this continue.
“Faith Stirs Isaiah to Persevere toward Turnaround Season”

This true story is inspiring.  I hope you will take time to read it in its entirety.  As you look at the pictures, you will see that Isaiah’s great personality shines through his facial expressions.

Day 31 @ MD Anderson

Mom and Dad have gotten settled back into the blessing of a condo that they’ve been able to use during this long stay in Houston! Today they planned to get out and take a short drive and enjoy the outside a few minutes. Tomorrow will be a day of appointments at the MDA clinic which is the reason she will continue to “live” in Houston for a while.
Everyday is a day of “Thanksgiving” for them as we discussed today! We are thankful for the friends and family that have fervently prayed since Day 1 and thankful for the brilliant doctors and nurses that have cared for her through it all.
Enjoy your gatherings over this week with the ones you love!
Blessings and prayers for each of you! Happy Thanksgiving!

Thanksgiving  – Day 25

Today, as we look ahead to the Lottie Moon Week of Prayer next week, I am thankful for missionaries.  They have a strong desire to share the “Good News” even if it takes them to destinations unknown to them and far from home (and family).  We, as Southern Baptists, are so blessed to have missionaries serving and more on the sidelines waiting to serve.  They are focused on winning the own people group to the Lord.  As someone told me Sunday morning, “I wish I had that boldness”.  Not everyone is called to serve as a missionary, but thankfully, many who have been called have accepted the call and the challenge!  They are reaping the blessings!

We also have missionaries who serve with the North American Mission Board and individual states.  I thank God for each and every one of them.

Continue to pray for Jesse Dean as he recovers from shoulder surgery.  Pray for those caring for Jesse too.

Clint Smith is doing well.  He will be working on the recovery process now.  Due to his young age and good physical activity, his recovery may go smoother and quicker than most older people who have heart surgery.  Pray for his young family as they go through this time with him.

Macy Gueldner

Christy Haynes’ father had heart surgery in Florida yesterday.  Pray for a good recovery period.

Thankfulness – Day 23 – Christian Writers

I do not meet many Christian writers, do I do meet them through their finished products.  As I read book or study devotionals, Bible studies, or weekly Sunday School lessons, I know someone had the heart to share and did the research necessary to write.  Then, they survived the editing, rewriting process, and publishing process.  That gives us an accurate, interesting book or article to enjoy and learn from.  I trust if you are dreaming about becoming a Christian writer, you will follow that dream and see where God leads you.

Enjoy the day with or without the sun.  Know that the Son is always there.

I was at a revival meeting at Natalbany Baptist Church where my young uncle (and I was much younger) was leading the music when I first remember hearing this song.  It really touched my heart.  I can only name a few hymns that I can name where I was when I first heard them, but this is the first and certainly a very special one to me.
I hope all of you are planning to be in God’s House somewhere tomorrow.  If you have not already planned to do that, please reconsider and choose a local church to attend.  That’s the proper place for all of us on the Lord’s Day!
