Please pray for Steven Clark (50), Ora Lee Wilson’s nephew. He had a heart attack about six months ago and another one today. He is not a good candidate for surgery. He is in OLOL hospital.

Buddy Morris‘ surgery was done this morning. The doctor is meeting with the family about this time. Please continue to pray for Buddy, Eleanor, and their family.

Pray for Bill Frazier who has been admitted to the hospital. I assume he is in Greensburg.

Juanita Wheat Booty, a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away at her home on Wednesday, June 13, 2018 at the age of 77. She retired from the Denham Springs Wal-Mart after 20 years of faithful service. She enjoyed spending time with her family and she never passed up a good sale. Juanita is survived by her loving husband of 60 years, Dennis Booty; children, Keith Booty and wife, Yvonne, Greg Booty and wife, Suzanne, and Dee Dee Mathews and husband, Darrell; grandchildren, Kasie, Matt, Brittney, Blake, Alex, Luke, Abbie, and Karly; great-grandchild, Kendall; sisters, Gwen Lemay (Ernie) and Ora Lee Wilson (Robert); and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Iola Wheat; and siblings, Barbara Jo Clark and John Q. Wheat. Visitation will be held at Seale Funeral Home in Denham Springs on Monday, June 18, 2018 from 9 a.m. until Funeral Service at 11 a.m. Interment will follow at Evergreen Memorial Park.

David saw his retina specialist. He has done extensive work on David’s eyes a number of times. He always uses the M-word to describe David’s eye progress. That word is MIRACLE!

Walter Theodore “Buster” Thompson, III

June 07, 1932 – June 09, 2018

Walter Theodore Thompson III, known to many as Buster, was born on June 7, 1932. Surrounded by his closest family, Buster left his life-long home in Hillsdale, LA for his eternal home in Heaven. Buster lived a happy and prosperous life with his wife, Bonnie Hoyt Thompson, with whom he’d celebrate his 66th wedding anniversary on June 23rd. Buster was an active supporter of the Hillsdale community as a member of the Hillsdale Tractor Pullers as well as a career dairyman. He was a member of Hillsdale Baptist Church. He served in the Airforce and fought in the Korean War. He was survived by his wife, Bonnie Hoyt Thompson; sister, Ramona Powers; nieces, Charel Kennedy and Ramona “Baby” Elam; great nieces, Megan Wagner, Sarah Savoy, and Carmen Elam; nephew, Billy Cox; great nephews, Chris Peairs and Hill Savoy, as well as numerous other nephews and nieces. Buster was blessed with “his girls” and their families, Jessica Dupepe (Greg), Jennie Perkins (Corey), Bonnie Jordan (Brooks), Brady, Emma Kate, Court, Kaul, Kade, Bennett, and Blinn. Buster was greeted in heaven by his parents, Walter and Rita Phillips Thompson; sister, Delores Thompson Cox; brothers in law, Frank Powers and Glenn Cox; nephews, Peavy Powers; father in law Charles Hoyt; brother in law and sister in law; Gene and Betty Hoyt Cox; and a special nephew, better known as a grandson, Blaine Milton. Pallbearers are Greg Dupepe, Brooks Jordan, Corey Perkins, Brady Milton, Court Milton, Chris Peairs, Hill Savoy, and Andy Miller. Saturday, we will be making items to send in shoeboxes. Men, women, boys, and girls are invited to join us from 9-12 in the fellowship hall. Crafting is always more fun with friends. It becomes even more fun when you know the items will be shared as Christmas gifts with children who might otherwise not have and gifts this year. In addition to the gifts, the children get an invitation to attend classes once a week for six weeks where they will be exposed to some Bible basics. I’m thrilled to know my shoeboxes may lead some children to the Lord! This is your invitation to join us for a fun morning that will bless each of us and eventually many children who live nowhere near Kentwood. You may be interested in making some purchases such as small flashlights from Walmart or $1.00 calculators from the dollar stores or just bring some clean, used t-shirts which will be used in making items for the shoeboxes.

The June “Young” Ladies Birthday Party will be on the 4th Tuesday at 11:00 A.M. at The Cafe. Ladies with June birthdays who will be honored are: Sandra Arnold, Alcyon Hayden, Barbara Hutchinson, and Judy Pervis.

Pray for the youth from our church and from many other churches as they spend a week at M-Fuge in Mobile. I know it will be hot, but our kids will be out and working to bless others. This week has potential to greatly impact our youth and the lives of those being ministered to. Please pray for them.

Friday morning, we will resume our Bible study of Romans at 10:00 in the fellowship hall.

Pray for JoEllen Carruth of Greensburg as she has tests done in Baton Rouge tomorrow morning.

Several people in our area had surgery last week and are slowly recovering. Thank God for the forward progress. As you continue to pray for them, please also pray for their families, especially where young children are involved.

The Southern Baptist Convention will be this week in Dallas. Pray for those in attendance.

William Jeremy Ferguson

October 17, 2008 – June 07, 2018

William Jeremy Ferguson, 9, a resident of McComb, MS passed away June 7, 2018 from injuries sustained in a motor vehicle accident. Visitation will be Sunday June 10, 2018 from 1:00 PM until services at 3:00 PM at Holmesville Baptist Church in McComb. Burial will be in the Holmesville church cemetery. Bro. Lee Mathis will officiate. Hartman Jones Funeral Home will be in charge of the arrangements.

William was born October 17, 2008 in Hammond, LA to Jeremy Neil Ferguson and Monica Edwards Norrell. He attended Franklin County Elementary School and had just completed third grade. He was a member of Sunnyhill Baptist Church as well as Holmesville Baptist Church. He loved to fish, play baseball, swim, hunting, playing x-box, four wheel riding, and TV watching. He enjoyed all these activities as well as many others with his siblings. He loved people of all ages, welcoming them all as friends. He started a bible club at Franklin County Elementary School. He was a perfect angel and will be missed greatly.

He is preceded in death by paternal great grandparents, Walter Cleveland Ferguson and Aline Pigott Ferguson, John Grimsley and Nettie Lee Grimsley; his paternal grandfather, Walter Neil Ferguson; maternal great grandparents, Thomas Edwards and Linda Lebo, and Joe Lebo; step grandfather, Johnny Wade.

He is survived by his parents, Jeremy Neil Ferguson and Charity of McComb and Monica Norrell and Ryan of Kentwood; grandparents, Linda and William Edwards of Kentwood and Betty Edwards of Kentwood, and Sue Ferguson of McComb; step grandparents, Bobby and Carol Dykes of Kentwood and Dianne Wade of McComb; two brothers, Austin Abbott of Kentwood and Levi Sterling of McComb; five sisters, Magan Cagle and her husband Wade of McComb, Alyssa Abbot of Kentwood, Jordan Etheridge and her husband Josh of Centerville, Emma Grace Ferguson of McComb and Brelyn Norrell of Kentwood; a nephew, Braxton Cagle; a special cousin, Kinley Edwards; along with numerous other relatives and a host of friends.

The VBS program at FBC, Kentwood was great last night. Now, we have to wait another whole year to do another one! It was good to see all the parents and grandparents there.

Mrs. Ruby Dillon has made good progress with her walking and is scheduled to come home Tuesday afternoon. Thank God for her progress.

Connor Corkern is doing much better and may be able to come home on day next week. Thank God for the progress he has made.

Steve Joseph Campo, Sr.

November 06, 1927 – June 08, 2018

Steve Joseph Campo, Sr., passed away peacefully and prayerfully after a long struggle with Alzheimer’s Condition at the age of 90, on Friday, June 8, 2018. He was at home surrounded by his loving wife of 68 years, Savina Parrino Campo and his beloved children. He was born on November 6, 1927 to Joseph J. Campo, Sr. and Fannie Schittone Campo in Tickfaw, La., and lived there most of his life on Mulberry Street. Steve was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and friend. He was a faithful member of St. Helena Catholic Church, Sacred Heart Society and was a Fourth Degree Knights of Columbus. He graduated from Amite High School in 1945 and received military training at Camp Roberts, Ca. in radio operations. He worked for New Orleans Beverage Agency and Glazer Wholesale for 44 years and awarded Man of the Year on many occasions. Steve was an elite golfer winning the Springview Club Championship and KC Tournament several times in addition to winning numerous state and local tournaments. He was an accomplished athlete, outdoorsman, harmonica player, and loved all types of music and dance. Steve and Savina, were married October 22, 1950 and reared their nine children in Amite on Mulberry Street. They were deeply devoted to supporting their children attain their life goals and insured that each attended their college degrees and beyond. He is survived by his children: Dr. Stephanie Fay Campo, Dr. Kathryn Kirkhart, JoAnn Campo Beach and her husband, Peter Beach, Steve Joseph Campo, Jr. and his wife, Loreta Genco Campo, Anthony Campo, Dr. Joseph John Campo, Sr., and his wife, Alice Foulks Campo, Jennie Campo Littlewood and her husband, Dr. Steven Littlewood, Mark Campo and his wife, Nancy Smith Campo, Samuel Vincent Campo, Sr. and his wife, Brynn Hastings Campo, and Frank Mario Campo, Sr. and his wife, Tammy Gaeta Campo. He is the proud grandfather to 43 beloved grandchildren and great grandchildren: Callan, Kristy, Emily and Leah Beach, Laura, Jeremy and Noah Gatlin, Thomas and Layla Beach, Steve J. Campo and Aimee Campo, Mary Lauren Campo and fiancee’ Eric Vernon, Jennifer, Cara, Lathan, Ashley and Mabel Campo, Tommy Triche, Braden Chandler , Rachel, Corey, Ace and Hays Blunk, Joey, Silvia and Nicholas Campo, David, Lisa and Haylee Jane Campo, Ryan and Emily Cassidy, Dr. Alden Littlewood, Susannah Littlewood, Joshua, Fallon O’Neill, Easton, and Liam Campo, Jacob Campo, Samuel Campo Jr, Mario, Micah and Sarah Campo. Steve is survived by his brother, John Joseph Campo, Sr., sister in law, Carol Parrino Campo, sister, Catherine Campo Adomitis, and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph John Campo, Sr. and Fannie Schittone Campo, and parents-in-law, Tony and Jennie Triolo Parrino, sister, Mary Campo Lavigne, and sister, Sarah Campo Guzzardo, and younger brother John Campo. Steve was a man of deep faith, hard work, integrity and devotion to his family. His strong faith in God and confidence in Gods promises were guiding forces in his life. He was an inspiration to us all, forever cherished in our memory, and will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege to know him. Friends and family are invited to his visitation at McKneely Funeral Home of Amite on Monday June 11 from 9:30am to 1:30pm followed by Mass of Christian Burial to be held at St. Helena Catholic Church on 120 S. First Street in Amite, La. at 2:00pm. Interment will take place at Amite Cemetery on Hwy 16 East. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association and St Helena Catholic Church building fund. A special thanks to Dr. Kreft, Dr. Pray, and all of the devoted nurses and caretakers “Well done, my good and faithful servant” (Matthew 25:21. “No eye has seen, no ear has heard, what God has in store for those who love him” (1 Cor. 2:9). Bro. Darryl shared with the children in VBS this morning. He did not quote this verse, but the illustration he presented to them made this verse clear. He has a special way of relating to people, a God-given talent.

One of the themes this week is, “When we struggle, Jesus rescues!” There are people all around struggling. I’ll not name any of them today, so you can focus on that thought, not individual people. If you or yours are struggling, Jesus will come to the rescue because He loves you!

I’ve been making purchases and plans for the Mission Projects Day on the 16th. I’m so thankful to report that as I have asked a number of people to help in a specific way, they have all cheerfully agreed to help. Now, I have a request to make to you. If you have old Crayons, old t-shirts, ribbon, etc. that you have stashed away, why not share it with us so we can repurpose these items in our projects? My second request concerning this day is that you come to the fellowship hall at 9:00 A.M. and help. When we had out last work day, every adult told me they had fun. You can’t beat fun and progress for missions!

Operation Christmas Child shoeboxes will be available that day. Anyone who gets shoeboxes that day or has recently received them at church will be able to select some items from our stash to use in their boxes.

Operation Christmas Child Shoeboxes will be available at church Sunday. If you pack one a month, you can get five packed before the collection date.

Calculators are a great item for shoeboxes. I like to purchase brightly colored solar powered ones that can be found at the dollar stores for $1.00. If you are not going to pack some shoeboxes, you might want to purchase some calculators each month.

I’m thankful for the rain we received yesterday afternoon. We got a nice rain yesterday. Some of you who live in Kentwood were blessed with two good rains. Did you take time to than God for the rain? It’s not too late!
