Please add Mrs. Maxine Turner to your prayer list. She is hospitalized at North Oaks. As you pray for her, please remember to add her family, especially her sister, Frances Strickland. I know your prayers will be greatly appreciated.
Continue to pray for David Allen. Pray for his lungs to improve today. Also, pray for his family, especially Fannie, the children, and his parents. The family is very thankful to know you are praying.
Pray for those who are undergoing tests and/or treatment for various problems.
Continue to pray for my family as we are in the midst of numerous appointments for my parents and continual monitoring of my mother. I’m thankful for the progress that has been made and the assistance from my sisters. It’s a real blessing that we all live in this area. Keep us in your prayers.

Died at 7:10 p.m. on Sunday, October 11, 2009 at Kentwood Manor Nursing Home in Kentwood, LA. Age 83 years.
A memorial service will be held at a later date. More information will be added when available.

Shortfall stirs quick response; 25 more missionaries able to go overseas

I know of one area church that took on the challenge of sending one of this missionary units above and beyond their usual mission offering. One Sunday they collected more than enough to meet the needs for an entire year. That’s what missions is about! Those who cannot/do not go can support others through prayer and giving.

David is opening his eyes more today. His visitors will be more limited for his benefit. Keep doing your part!

Sherry called last night to report David Allen is being treated for double viral pneumonia. Plans are to keep him less sedated. Eli, his son, posted on David’s facebook page, Your prayers are greatly appreciated.
Please continue to pray for Ronnie Hayden as he recovers from surgery at North Oaks.

David Allen has not been seen by a doctor yet this morning. I’ll update when I hear. Keep remembering them.
Tuesday Addition
Mrs. Nita Lee asked for prayer for her brother Ronnie who has been sick for several months and just had surgery. She asked for our prayers here and through the prayer lists at churches.
Chrissy Smith is better and no longer hospitalized. Thank God for her progress.
Pray for Pam Kliesch as services for her mother are held in Alabama.
Monday Evening Update/Addition
Mark Thursday night at 6:30 on your calendar. The share group will meet at the cabin. Come join us for supper, fellowship, and a devotional time.
Mason Carter went for a check-up today. He doesn’t need additional surgery at this point. Lawana thanks you for your prayers for Mason.
Herbert Martin Casanova
(January 6, 1932 – October 11, 2009)
Died at 5:40 p.m. on Sunday, October 11, 2009 at North Oaks Medical Center in Hammond. He was a native and a resident of Husser, LA. Age 77 years. Visitation at McKneely Funeral Home, Amite, from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m. on Wednesday and from 8 a.m. until 9:15 a.m. on Thursday. Religious Services at St. Dominic Catholic Church, Husser, at 10 a.m. Thursday. Interment St. Dominic Cemetery, Husser. He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Brenda Dunnington Casanova, Husser; 2 sons, Daniel Casanova and his wife, Robin, Husser, and David Casanova and his wife, Marsha, Amite; 5 grandchildren, Hallie and Ethan Casanova and Emilee, Ellee and Enslee Casanova. He was preceded in death by his parents, Emile and Alice Casanova; infant daughter, Jeanette Marie Casanova.
Monday Evening
Sherry Simpson said Brent went in for the last visitation with David Allen. The doctors are now waking him up a little every 3-4 hours. David was able to chuckle when they teased him about how long he was in the bed. The family is encouraged. Keep praying for David and the whole family.
