Saturday Evening

I have two good reports to share this evening.  Thank God for His work.

  • Mike Moore
    • Mike is married to Robin Wilson whose dad, Leroy Wilson, grew up in this area.  Mike had surgery a few months ago because of a tumor behind one eye.  The vision in that eye was very limited and only to the side.  This morning, Mike discovered he could see directly in front of him and has been covering his good eye and reading for his family all day.
  • Mrs. Hellen Morris
    • Please let everyone know that my mother is home and doing fine.  The doctor found a small blockage on her right knee but it was in a place where he could not put a stint – so he “roto-rootered” the vein out and got good results.  The other leg had no blockages.  She spent the night Friday night and is very glad to be home.  Thanks, Lauree

Saturday

“Are you tired? Worn out? Burned out on religion?

Come to me.

Get away with me and you’ll recover your life.

I’ll show you how to take a real rest.

Walk with me and work with me—watch how I do it.

Learn the unforced rhythms of grace.”

~Matthew 11:28-29a MSG~

Jadon has now gone seven months without surgery.  Remember how many he was having before surgery?  Remember how hard it was to think of the surgery he was facing?  Be thankful his parents had the strength to do the right (hard) thing and surrender Jadon to the surgeons.  God has surely blessed his little life!

Please continue to pray for Nikki Newell.  She continues to have seizures, even though they are not as frequent as they were at first.

On behalf of the members of FBC, Greensburg, JoEllen Carruth has sent this invitation.

Heart to Heart with Holley: The Surprise

http://holleygerth.com/?s=bible+study

David recently met a man who dedicates his whole Saturday to Bible study and preparation for church the next day.  No, he’s not a preacher!  He a Christian man who strives to learn more from the Word!  How many of us need to be more like him?

Velta Morris Update

Hi everyone,

So many of you have asked recently about my health and I thank you so much for your prayers and concern.  I am updating you all through this global e-mail list that I used back in January of this year, along with a few additions.

For some who might not have known, in January I was diagnosed with a non-Hodgkin’s, non-aggressive type of lymphoma.  I have been monitored these past few months, and I had a regularly scheduled PET scan on Monday of this week.  Today I met with the oncologist to go over the results of the scan.  Briefly, the scan showed that one area needed a closer look, and I will be having a biopsy of that area next week to confirm and/or determine whether or not treatment is needed.  The oncologist is very hopeful and encouraging that if treatment is needed it will be very effective. While today’s visit was a little disappointing, when compared to the suffering of others, I know how blessed I am.

I continue to covet and thank you for your prayers.  I love you all, my friends and family, and am so thankful for each you.  God is good, He is in control, and I want Him to be glorified as I am on this journey.

Monday’s 2nd Addition

Nikki Newell

I want to thank everyone who prayed, called and visited Nikki in the hospital. All the test have came back normal. The only explanation we were given was that possible stress had triggered seizure like activity. We are now home and she had a good night. As a family we are so blessed to have so many people who love and care for us.

Keith and Karen Newell
