Pray for James as he has had a back issue for about a week now.  Pray he can get some relief soon.

Porgy Scarle

Pray for Porgy (and Joanie) as he has some back tests to determine what can be done for the fractured vertebrae in his back.  He has been hurting for years.

Texas State Troopers

The Texas State Troopers are being called to the border to help maintain safe conditions.  My young cousin and two little boys will be sending their husband/dad off today to take a turn serving there.  Others, who are there now, describe a very difficult situation.  Pray for the best solution.

Jean Easley is so much better!  She is now in rehab in Hammond.  Thank-you, Lord, for her amazing progress.

Mrs. Joan Roberts was very sick yesterday morning in ICU in McComb.  Pray for the family.

Pray for Kristin, my niece, and others who are making a long, difficult journey today as they return from a mission trip to Haiti.

Don’t forget VBS at Tangipahoa Baptist Church this week.

Steve Hatchel

Mr. Steve gained two pounds and has improved to only needing a cane to walk.  He has resumed treatment, but changed the time of day so he can get more rest in the mornings.  Continue to pray for him and for “Miss” Ginger.

WMU

Due to illness, the WMU meeting has changed dates and locations.  It is now scheduled for Monday, July 28th at New Zion at 10:00 with the leadership team meeting at 9:00.  Bring a covered dish.

Mission Project

We’re half way through our month of collecting red beans and rice.  Lots of bags have been brought to the church already and some have already been delivered to God’s Storehouse in Amite.  This is such an easy project to participate in.  If you have not done so already, you still have two weeks.  Even after that, it will be fine to bring some periodically.  David and I will continue to make deliveries of all the contributions.

Hope Ministries

Our association will soon have our own thrift store and food pantry.  The finance committee gave final approval this week.  The building on highway 51 in Roseland will be rented the first of August with plans to open the first of September.  Lots of volunteers will be needed for renovations, sorting, selling, food packaging, etc.  I’ll be working on a list soon.  Start praying and asking God how He can use you.

Elijah was in Children’s hospital a few days ago.  Now, he is much better and back home.  Thank-you for praying.

Susan Rimes got a good report yesterday.  Let’s join her in thanking God.

Johnnie Santangello continues to do well.  We can join his large family of relatives and friends who are also thanking God.

Mrs. Della McDaniel is still in rehab in Greensburg.  Please say a special prayer for her and her family.

Sherman Cutrer will have surgery today on one of the broken arms that is not doing well.  Pray this second surgery works.

Betty Taylor will have injections in her eyes again today.  Pray all goes well with this procedure.

Tangipahoa Baptist Church will host Vacation Bible School each evening next week.  Let’s pray for another very successful VBS in our area with boys and girls having fun as they learn about Jesus.

The WMU of Two Rivers Association will have a quarterly meeting Monday morning at 10:00 at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church in Pine Grove.  Ladies who would like to attend can meet at my house at 9:00 A.M.  Bring a covered dish for lunch after the meeting.

Pray for the Hatchels as they have their first official working day in Richmond.  The children will be attending classes with the children of other participants there.

Two requests from friends:

  • Great grandson, Elijah, who is 14 months old, and had to have surgery yesterday for a staff infection
  • Grandson, Eli, who is in Children’s Hospital with a collapsed lung; Better now
