Hymn of the Day – “Take the Name of Jesus with You” – http://cyberhymnal.org/htm/p/r/precious.htm

We know that Jesus goes with us each step of each day.  Let’s let others know that by where we go, what we say, and what we do.  It may the the hope someone is searching for.

Yesterday, for the second time, I was asked if men could attend the “Lucy” Bible Study.  I don’t have a problem with that.  We will meet at 10:00 this morning in the fellowship hall of FBC,K.

Be aware of God’s plans for you today.  Don’t miss any opportunity!

“Yours, LORD, is the greatness and the power and the glory and the splendor and the majesty,

for everything in the heavens and on earth belongs to You.

Yours, LORD, is the kingdom,

and You are exalted as head over all.”

Pray for Smiley Conerly as he has heart tests and learns what he needs to do.

Pray for Jeff Tolar of Florida as he continues to have back problems.

Pray for Betty Taylor as she sees her cardiologist Friday.  Pray for her mother, Mrs. Ruby Ziggler, and family as they adjust to Mrs. Ziggler being at rehab in McComb.  They cannot stay with her as they could when she was hospitalized.

Debi and George Bales’ son, David, has seen doctors all week.  They have learned the cancer is deep but not the stage of the cancer.  David will have surgery Friday of next week with some treatments scheduled to follow. Pray for the whole family as they face this “journey” they were not planning.

Robert and Ora Lee Wilson’s great grandson had a “seizure”-type problem.  Additional tests have shown nothing for which to be concerned. Thank God for this good report.  Pray for Ora Lee as she faces surgery on her leg.

Mrs. Bonnie Strickland and Debi Bales mother, “Miss” Lucy, will both be moving to nursing homes to receive the care they need.

Tuesday

Finally, brethren, pray for us,

that the word of the Lord may run swiftly and be glorified,

just as it is with you.”

~2 Thessalonians 3:1~

Yesterday, the stent went well for Mr. Pat Hoosier to open a blocked duct.  Cancer was found in the pancreas.  This allows the doctors to pay attention to an area that had been undetected up to this point.  The girls are now asking for prayer for their mother who will see a doctor about scheduling surgery on her hands.  She put their daddy first, but now it is time for her to get some needed attention.

Yesterday morning, the senior adult revival at Line Creek Baptist Church was wonderful.   Music, preaching, fellowship, and food – what a great way for Christians from all over Two Rivers Association to gather together!  Tomorrow, the revival will be at Roseland.

Another association meeting was held at 1:00 Monday afternoon at  East Fork.  The WMU heard from Kay Bennett who works on our behalf in New Orleans.  Her ministry has taken on a lot of new responsibility working to help stop human trafficking.  We learned so much!  Our hearts were touched by the stories she told of people who had been helped.

Missions – Don’t forget to collect usable children’s shoes, school uniforms, jackets, and blankets for those who might need them.  Place your donations inside the main or office entrances to FBC,K.  I will make another delivery to Re-Store soon.

The Fall Food  Round-Up for the La. Baptist Children’s Home is Monday, the 16th.  Call the church if you need to know what items they need the most.

Hymn of the Day

September 8th was my grandmother’s birthday.  She was know to most people as Jennie Lee Wilkinson Draughon.  I was named for her (Lee) and her mother (Anna Elizabeth).  In our family, she was know as “Ganky”, because her oldest grandchild (yours truly) learned to say that before she could say Grandmaw or some other such name.  When I was growing up and she visited, we talked long after we got in my bed.  One night, I learned her favorite hymn was “Near to the Heart of God”.  Needless to say, that became one of my favorite hymns too.

Kaye Roberts’ brother, Jimmy Alford, has completed his radiation and chemotherapy and will go for a pet scan on Monday, September 9th.  Let’s start praying now for his scan next week.

Mrs. Mary Womack is now home with hospice care.  Check on her and help her in any way you can.

Lara of Lara’s Gowns for Smiles

The MRI showed no metastatic disease or tumors. The spots that showed in her right tibia are still glowing, but the consensus is that it is marrow changes due to chemotherapy. We will continue the rest of her treatment at CHNOLA. She has three 5 day chemotherapy cycles left. We are hoping to be finished mid-late November. Bone graft surgery will not be until after Christmas so she can enjoy a cast-free holiday!! Thank you all for your prayers!
