Monday

                                                         “If anyone is thirsty,

he should come to Me and drink!

The one who believes in Me,

                                                   as the Scripture has said,

will have streams of living water flow from deep within him.”

                                                   ~John 7:37b-38, HCSB~

“Sundae on Sunday” was very good.  People enjoyed visiting while they ate.  The trio of Reviere, Taylor, and Rimes sang and lead a sing-a-long.  Bro. Tom shared a brief message on missions.

FBC, Amite has made it to New Mexico where they will begin their mission work with the Navaho today.  Keep the teams and the people of the reservation in your prayers.

Several churches have taken their youth to camp this week.  Pray for the youth and the adults who accompanied them from Spring Creek, Osyka, and New Zion.

Pray for the Vacation Bible Schools that will begin today/tonight at East Fork and Bethel Baptist Churches.  What a great week for children and youth in our area.

Monday is usually my least favorite day of the week because I get up tired from all the activities of the past two or three days.  I had been very busy, as usual, but I’m going to make this Monday a good day, just because God has blessed me with this day and so many other things.

Saturday Night

I want to let everyone know that Rev. Tom Higginbothan will be preaching tomorrow while Bro. Joey is vacationing at the beach.  Bro. Tom was our interim several years ago.

Tomorrow evening, at 5:30, we will meet for “Sundae on Sunday”.  Bring store bought ice cream and anything you can think of to go with it – whipped topping, blueberry syrup, bananas, cherries, nuts, sprinkles, candy, chocolate, brownies,  cobbler, pound cake, etc.  We will have a great time enjoying what we combine.  I have information that music will include several guitars.  Bro. Tom will lead in a brief devotional.  All of this will be in the fellowship hall.  Remember, we start early – 5:30!

Friday

Third Thursday Meeting

We had another good meeting at the cabin last night.  I thank God for the love and friendship shared last night.  I thank God that despite the physical trials this year of many of the people present, we could not only share in our devotional/songs, but also laugh together.  What a blessing our meetings have been to me!

Ora Lee Wilson asks for prayer for Shantell Billiot and her husband.  They were in hopes to adopt some foster children this week, but the judge gave a parent six months to become a real parent.  Shantell and her husband were really looking forward to having the children permanently.  Pray for their broken hearts.  Pray the final outcome of this situation is what is best for the children.

Tuesday

TODAY’S PRAYER
IMB
JUNE 6, 2012

“Bear one another’s burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ” (Galatians 6:2).

  • WORLD LEADERS – “Therefore I exhort first of all that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks be made for all men, for kings and all who are in authority, that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and reverence” (1 Timothy 2:1-2). Please pray today for Prime Minister Fredrik Reinfeldt of Sweden (northwestern Europe, between Norway and Finland).
  • DEAF PEOPLES – Across South America, there are hundreds of towns where the Deaf communities do not have access to a church in their heart language. What is their heart language? Sign Language. These Deaf men and women are looking for answers in their troubled and confused world. Deaf nationals A and O began visiting and inviting the Deaf to a new Deaf Bible study. The first meeting was held in January. This small Bible study has grown and now has an average attendance of 11 Deaf, with a high attendance of 21. What a blessing it is to see this small Bible study group grow to become a church in such a short time! Pray for A and O to have wisdom as they teach weekly. Ask the Holy Spirit to touch the hearts of the Deaf, and pray that Deaf will be ready to “see” His stories and respond in faith. Pray that His Word will spread quickly and result in many Deaf following Jesus.
  • FUTA TORO FULANI OF WEST AFRICA (FU-tah TOH-roh fu-LAH-nee) – Many young people are discouraged because the school year has been declared “void.” Due to strikes and disruptions of one kind or another, it has been decided that insufficient credit has been earned this year for the material to count, so the whole year must be repeated by all the students next year. This puts a financial burden on families and does little to motivate students. These young people are at a very critical time in their lives. They stand with one foot rooted in family and traditions and the other stepping towards the future, ready to break ties and try new ideas, yet they are also losing hope and seeking truth. Where will they find it? We know that the Father’s Word speaks the message of life they need to learn, but who will share this lesson with them? How will they hear unless someone tells them? Who will go? How can they go unless they are sent? Ask the Father to raise up those who can bring the message of hope and life that this generation needs to hear. Ask Him to reveal to you what your part can be in seeing it come to pass.
Mrs. Oma Zachary was released by a doctor to return to her home in the Amite area.  Thank-you, God, for taking care of this sweet lady.
Pray for Mrs. Mary Alice Blackwell as she is preparing for her treatment.  Thank God for her family’s and friend’s support during this time.
Continue to pray for Marsha C. Bankston as she continues to “do everything the hard way”!  Thank-God for her family’s support during this time.
