Tuesday

“God gives us many kinds of special abilities,

but it is the same Spirit who is the source of them all.

There are different kinds of service to God,

but it is the same Lord we are serving.

There are many ways in which God works in our lives,

but it is the same God who works in and through all of us.”

~1 Corinthians 12:4-6 LB~

Dee Newcomb continues to improve.  Thank God for his progress.

Don ‘t forget to bring your items to the church so they can be delivered to those who were flooded out in Washington Parish.  May God bless you for your concern for others.

I pray your world is returning to “normal” now that Isaac is gone.  Pray for and physically help those who need a helping hand.

Jadon’s Story  – 3 Years Old

http://jadonsisstory.blogspot.com/

I have an early announcement concerning the Third Thursday meeting for next month.  James Rimes will be singing and praying again.  More information will be available as the date approaches.

Last night, FBC took the church to some of the homebound members.  Small groups visited six homes and had the Lord’s Supper, read Scripture, and sang a little.  What a blessing it was to everyone who participated.  I’m already looking forward to going to the homes of more of the homebound another night.

Make your preparations for Isaac today.  Think about how you can help someone else get ready.  Share your home with someone who might be alone or whose home might not be as safe.

Think smart and be safe!

Monday Addition

Pray for the Anthony’s this week.  They have three appointments for wound care and one with the regular doctor.  Four trips to Hammond are hard for anyone, especially someone who is sick.  Pray for this family regularly.

Five of five homebound families asked have agreed this morning to allowing some of the church family visit early next Sunday afternoon.  Pray for those whose homes we will visit and for the ones who visit to be loving and encouraging.

We have had some great Sunday night fellowship/worship times this summer.  If you missed them, you missed out, but it is never too late to get involved.  Thanks to all who cooked, sang, talked, or just visited within the groups at the tables.

Saturday

“But know that the Lord has set apart for Himself him who is godly;

the Lord will hear when I call to Him.”

~Psalm 4:3~

Pray for Rene Deck of Osyka.  She’s had trouble with her back all week, but wants to be well enough to teach her Sunday School class tomorrow.

Andrew and Kara Walker Faller proudly announce the birth of their second son, John Walker Faller.  He was 8 lb. 6 oz. and 20 in. long.  Both mother and baby are doing well.  Rev. Dennis Walker is the extra proud grandpaw.

Pray for all the ladies attending the state WMU conference in Bedico today to learn how to strengthen their WMU and how to better minister in their local churches.

Tomorrow night at FBC, Kentwood we will have a potluck supper in connection with the Sunday School training offered at 5:30.
