Monday

I just realized I forgot to publish this EARLY this morning.  I’m fine.  I just had a long, busy day.

“This good news of the kingdom

will be proclaimed in all the world

as a testimony to all nations.

And then the end will come.”

~Matthew 24:14~

(It was such a joy to share about the Georgia Barnette Offering for Louisiana Missions last night with two groups of children at TeamKid.  They have such tender hearts and attentive ears.  Pray they will always be open to sharing their money so others can hear about Jesus and always know that Jesus loves them and and wants them to share that message with others.)

From Martha Pevey Drago (written last night)

….our oldest son Jeremy’s daughter Macy has been diagnosed with leukemia. They left for St Judes today. Please put her on your prayer link. Thanks Martha

Penny Dees McDowell

Words cannot express how much our family appreciates all the prayers that our dear personal and even not personal friends have offered up for the healing of our sweet Penny. It means so much just to know that others are as concerned about your loved one as you are. Penny is still in ICU and is still very sick, but is definitely making improvement in the right direction. As of tonight (Sunday), the doctors have ordered that she have no visitors except immediate family for the remainder of her time in ICU. They said that this is because she needs COMPLETE rest in order promote the healing process. Please keep praying for her healing. Thank you so much again. We love you.
Penny’s Family

Please continue to pray for my aunt, Naomi, in Texas.  Her doctor thinks she needs surgery on her vertebrae, so her internal medicine doctor will be consulted today.  She is pain and very uncomfortable.

~Matthew 11:29-30~

I asked Diane Turner to give us an update on her son, Dan Turner, whose was in seriously injured in a motorcycle/deer accident .

I am sending you an update on Dan for you to pass on to those on The Prayer Link. First of all, our many thanks to those who have prayed and lifted Dan, his wife Angela, and the rest if family up to our Heavenly Father. We are convinced wholeheartedly, that Dan’s life was spared and that he continues to prove by God’s hand. Dan is still in outpatient therapy two days a week. He is going to rehab at a facility known as Quest. This facility only takes patients that they feel have a high success expectancy for complete recovery. That in itself is a confirmation to us that God is going to see this thing through.

At Quest, Dan is receiving therapy for his left shoulder, hand, and foot. He was left with tendinitis from the broken shoulder that was inhibiting his range of motion and interfering with therapy to strengthen that area. He has been receiving injections in the shoulder to correct this so therapy can move along. Also, he had similar issues in the hand and foot. He is also receiving injections in both the forearm and heel, greatly improving with function he needs for therapy.

Dan is very proactive and participating in his therapy both as a patient and a health professional who is vitally interested in getting past this to get back to help heal others. He is taking every stat that is generated by monitoring equipment and therapists and has developed spread sheets, bar graphs, and pie charts to track his progress. Having these visuals of his progress is SO AWESOME!!! It is so exciting and encouraging for him to see his progress, and to his family!!! to see it, as well!  He has visions of volunteering his expertise in this area to other patients at Quest to also give them hope and encouragement as they travel the road back traumatic injury.

We ask that you continue to pray for Dan and Angela, his wife. Pray specifically for his continued healing through this careful dance of meds and therapy to continue to awaken those areas of the brain controlling the shoulder, hand, and leg on the left side of his body. Thank you all again for your faithfulness to pray for Dan.

I know you will want to continue praying for all the Turners.  I think having this update will help us know how to best pray now.

Today is the day Mrs. Florene (Robert) Pate has surgery at OLOL.  Keep her and her family, as well as the medical staff. in your prayers.

(November 23, 1948 – September 24, 2013)

Linda Ritchie Tryniecki, a resident of Amite, died at 8:15 am on Tuesday, September 24, 2013 at North Oaks Medical Center in Hammond. She was born November 23, 1948 in Bogalusa and was 64 years of age. Linda was a devoted wife, a loving mother, grandmother and a faithful friend. Her memory will be cherished by her loving husband, Jim Tryniecki of Amite; her daughters Melissa Bordelon and husband Nic, Mandeville; Debbie Gallagher and husband Mike, Alexandria; Angela Tryniecki of Mandeville; eight grandchildren: Kelsey, Bryce and Karley Bordelon of Mandeville; Madison, Kaitlyn and Shawn Gallagher of Alexandria; Alex and Adam Dumestre of Mandeville; and a sister, Juanita Trout and husband Larry of Red Deer, Alberta Canada. She is preceded in death by her parents Robert Virgil and Nita Ritchie of Bogalusa. Linda devoted her professional life to the countless students that she taught and teachers that she mentored over her 26 year career. She earned both her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Education from Southeastern Louisiana University. Her first few years of teaching found her at Amite Elementary, Holy Ghost Catholic School and Merryland Kindergarten and PreSchool. She then found her home at Mater Dolorosa Catholic School in Independence where she taught Kindergarten and 2nd grade for eight years. Her desire to help Mater Dolorosa flourish brought her out of the classroom and into the leadership role as Principal of Mater Dolorosa for six years. These years spent with the students, teachers and families of Mater Dolorosa Parish were her most cherished. After retiring from her role as Principal, she returned to her alma mater of Southeastern to share her expertise and experience as an Instructor and University Supervisor of Student Teachers for six years. She always expressed her joy in being able to mentor these future educators. The family wishes to thank the doctors and ICU nursing staff of North Oaks Hospital for their devoted care. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Linda Tryniecki Scholarship established for Mater Dolorosa Catholic School set up at Chase Bank. Visitation will be held at McKneely Funeral Home in Amite, from 6:00 pm until 9:00 pm on Thursday, September 26, 2013 and at St. Helena Catholic Church, Amite, from 8 am until Religious Services at 10:00 am on Friday, September 27, 2013.
