This reminds me of Mr. “Red” Pittman who lives west of Kentwood.  He makes various wooden crafts and gives them away.  I own a garden angel and wooden cross he made.  Mr. “Red” is a cancer patient, but hasn’t stopped using his crafting skills and new ideas to bless others.

Hymn of the Day – “Others” – http://cyberhymnal.org/htm/o/t/h/others.htm

This hymn is the first one that came to mind after that inspirational thought.  It represents how we should live our lives, but never seem to do enough.  May we all strive to focus on others and being less self-centered!

Thank-you so much for praying for these needs and for the continuing needs in our community.  You are a blessing!

Austin Rose (Written by his mother, Denise LaBarbara Rose)

So let’s see… I need to catch up my posts and I have a strong urge to do it in order so… Last time we went home was Friday, aug.20th and it was the longest “at home” stay of 10 days! Yay. He went to school all day all week, football game Friday night, and homecoming dance on Saturday night! So happy to see that happen.
Came back to hospital on Monday, sept 30th for the first round of maintenance which is also the LAST PLANNED HOSPITAL STAY! He did so well clearing his methotrexate that they are sending us home tonight !!! (Thursday). They say he may develop a fever in the near future which would bring us back but if not, his next treatment is outpatient on October 28th. THATS 25 days HOME PEOPLE! And 2 marching band competitions! I have to say that I am feeling a little emotional about leaving here tonight. We have been here almost constantly for the last 3 1/2 months. The doctors and nurses here have been phenomenal. We have gotten to know many and they will forever be in our hearts!

Elaine Baham Stewart’s surgery when very well.  When she woke up, she had a smiley face and a short message written in her right hand.  The doctor thinks he removed all the cancer.

Wednesday

“All of you, take up My yoke and learn from Me,

because I am gentle and humble in heart,

and you will find rest for yourselves.

For My yoke is easy and My burden is light.”

~Matthew 11:29-30~

I asked Diane Turner to give us an update on her son, Dan Turner, whose was in seriously injured in a motorcycle/deer accident .

I am sending you an update on Dan for you to pass on to those on The Prayer Link. First of all, our many thanks to those who have prayed and lifted Dan, his wife Angela, and the rest if family up to our Heavenly Father. We are convinced wholeheartedly, that Dan’s life was spared and that he continues to prove by God’s hand. Dan is still in outpatient therapy two days a week. He is going to rehab at a facility known as Quest. This facility only takes patients that they feel have a high success expectancy for complete recovery. That in itself is a confirmation to us that God is going to see this thing through.

At Quest, Dan is receiving therapy for his left shoulder, hand, and foot. He was left with tendinitis from the broken shoulder that was inhibiting his range of motion and interfering with therapy to strengthen that area. He has been receiving injections in the shoulder to correct this so therapy can move along. Also, he had similar issues in the hand and foot. He is also receiving injections in both the forearm and heel, greatly improving with function he needs for therapy.

Dan is very proactive and participating in his therapy both as a patient and a health professional who is vitally interested in getting past this to get back to help heal others. He is taking every stat that is generated by monitoring equipment and therapists and has developed spread sheets, bar graphs, and pie charts to track his progress. Having these visuals of his progress is SO AWESOME!!! It is so exciting and encouraging for him to see his progress, and to his family!!! to see it, as well!  He has visions of volunteering his expertise in this area to other patients at Quest to also give them hope and encouragement as they travel the road back traumatic injury.

We ask that you continue to pray for Dan and Angela, his wife. Pray specifically for his continued healing through this careful dance of meds and therapy to continue to awaken those areas of the brain controlling the shoulder, hand, and leg on the left side of his body. Thank you all again for your faithfulness to pray for Dan.

I know you will want to continue praying for all the Turners.  I think having this update will help us know how to best pray now.
