Friday Morning Bible Study – Bonanza #1

Our clip from the TV program was very good on it’s own this morning.  I think this lesson on transformation has been my favorite of all we have done so far.  Needless to say, our lives were transformed when we placed Jesus in our lives.  We hope to live in such a way that others can see Him in what we say and do.  I look forward to the next eleven Bonanza lessons.  It is never too late to join us.

Looking Ahead – “Young” Ladies BIble Study

Tuesday at 11:00 at The Cafe

Join us in celebrating February Birthdays

Disciple Now

Continue to pray for the youth from several area churches as they are meeting this weekend at FBC, Kentwood for Disciple Now.  Pray the leaders impart the message God has for each of the youth.

Wednesday lunch for the BCM at SLU

If you attend FBC, Kentwood, you will likely find a request to help provide a portion of the meal we will be serving Wednesday.  Thanks, ahead of time, for your cooperation in feeding about 150 students one of the best meals they receive all year.  Know that the BCM is important in the lives of college students.  You will be helping to draw students in to the center.  Who wants a hamburger when they smell jambalaya cooking?

Get out of your little world and do something for someone else!  Both of you will be blessed.

Hymn of the Day – “Serve the Lord with Gladness”

Serve the Lord with gladness in our works and ways.
Come before His presence with our songs of praise.
Unto Him our Maker, we would pledge anew
Life’s supreme devotion to service true.

Serve the Lord with gladness, thankful all the while
For His tender mercies, for His loving smile.
Blessed truth enduring, always just the same.
We will serve with gladness and praise His name.

Serve the Lord with gladness, this shall be our theme.
As we walk together, in His love supreme.
Listening, ever listening for the still small voice.
His sweet Will so precious, will be our choice.

Serve Him with gladness, Enter His courts with song.
To our Creator, true praises belong.
Great is His mercy, wonderful is His name.
We gladly serve Him, His great love proclaim.

God answered a long-time prayer yesterday.  What a blessing! Thanks to those who prayed for me yesterday.

Velta Morris (shared on Facebook)

As I always do when I have a medical update on my journey with Lymphoma, I want to share the news with you, my friends and family, who so faithfully pray for me and encourage me.
Today, I had a visit with my oncologist, and I received wonderful news! The CT scan from yesterday showed that the “bad places” had shrunk more, and I’m overjoyed with this good news. I will have another scan in August and a visit with the oncologist and will continue my maintenance infusions (not chemo) throughout the rest of this year.
Thank you for your prayers and concern. I’m so blessed to have each of you in my life, and pray that I will use my good news today to better serve Our Lord. Please continue to keep me in your prayers! To God Be the Glory, Great Things He Has Done!
Psalm 34:1: I will extol the LORD at all times; his praise will always be on my lips.
