Wednesday (Posted Tuesday Night)

I just checked the weather report and learned we will have thunderstorms and heavy thunderstorms until Thursday afternoon, so I decided to post a little tonight.

Norman Stuart

Norman got a feeding tube and a trach this afternoon.  Pray these will help him get better soon.

Sherman Cutrer, Sr.

Sherman has had surgery on both arms.  He’s still hospitalized.  Pray for him as he begins to recover.

Dr. Ernest Graham

This former resident of Kentwood will be preaching for morning worship Sunday at FBC, Amite.

Operation Christmas Child

One night in Poland, shoeboxes were distributed to about 50 children in a community center after singing Christmas carols and reciting poems. The room erupted in celebration as the shoeboxes were opened. One young girl, Veronica, opened her shoebox and quickly put the lid back on. Then, with wide eyes, she opened it again and pulled out a T-shirt, a scarf, gloves, socks, candy, a brush and a pencil case. She held each item high in the air calling to her friends to look at her gifts. At the end of the night, one of the mothers said, “The shoebox is just one drop in the bucket, but without it we would have missed out on all this joy.” Another mother added, “Yes – and every drop creates ripples.”

Monday

“Therefore, brothers,

stand firm and hold to the traditions you were taught,

either by our message or by our letter.”

~2 Thessalonians 2: 15, HCSB~

Lloyd Hayden

Pray for Lloyd as he has an important medical test this week.  He and his family are appreciative of your prayers.

Hazel Smith

Pray for “Miss” Hazel as she has a test this week.  Pray she can get to feeling better soon.

Norman Stuart

Norman is about the same.  Pray for his family as they remain faithfully at his side.

Betty Pittman

Lois Pittman asked for prayer for Betty who has cancer.  Thanks for praying.

Mission Trip to Spain

The youth have safely arrived.  Pray for them as they minister in Spain.  May their experiences be life-altering for them and for the people they encounter.

  • “Yesterday I received a thank you letter and photo from 10-year old Ana Mae in the Philippines. She was wearing the pink gathered skirt and yellow and pink top I sent in the shoebox and looked so adorable in it. I was touched by something she wrote. She said she had nothing to give me but she hoped JESUS would give me many gifts. He has and continues to bless me every day.” – Ruthie C.

Matthew 24:32–44

Parable of the Fig Tree

Mark 13:28–31Luke 21:29–33

32 “Now learn this parable from the fig tree: When its branch has already become tender and puts forth leaves, you know that summer is near. 33 So you also, when you see all these things, know that 5it is near—at the doors! 34 Assuredly, I say to you, this generation will by no means pass away till all these things take place. 35 Heaven and earth will pass away, but My words will by no means pass away.

Mark 13:32–37Luke 21:34–36

36 “But of that day and hour no one knows, not even the angels of 6heaven, but My Father only. 37 But as the days of Noah were, so also will the coming of the Son of Man be.38 For as in the days before the flood, they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noah entered the ark, 39 and did not know until the flood came and took them all away, so also will the coming of the Son of Man be. 40 Then two men will be in the field: one will be taken and the other left. 41 Two women will be grinding at the mill: one will be taken and the other left. 42 Watch therefore, for you do not know what 7hour your Lord is coming. 43 But know this, that if the master of the house had known what 8hour the thief would come, he would have watched and not allowed his house to be broken into. 44 Therefore you also be ready, for the Son of Man is coming at an hour you do not expect.

It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud.

Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth.
It always protects, always trusts,

Thank you for praying for my father’s surgery. The doctor removed 98% of the tumor. After the surgery, he had decreased mobility in his left side and is unable to move his leg. They are restarting steroids to help the swelling and are giving him meds through the IV for nausea & vomiting. He’s resting now. His blood pressure is high 170’s/90’s but hopefully will come down now that he is comfortable. We will keep u posted. Keep the prayers coming. Love, The Santangelo’s
