Jadon’s Story:  Medicine changes and new tricks

The increase in vimpat has made my seizures worse. They are more
intense and they are waking me up at night. We are going to decrease
my vimpat and increase my banzel some more. Hopefully this will help.
So here we go again. Please pray that they decrease. On a good note
I’m saying bye bye now. I’m more vocal than ever. I’m saying dada one
minute and bye bye the next. I’m also blowing kisses. Im just too
sweet. Love ya and thanks for praying.

(Thank God for the progress Jadon has made.  He’s come a long way already. Continue to pray for his family as they fight his battle with him each day.)

 

Mr. Joe Williams is back at home.  Continue to pray for Mr. Joe and “Miss” Othelle.

Pray for Roger and Lois Pittman today as he has pre-op procedures in McComb today.

 

Pray for little Chloe and her family in Kentwood as she has surgery on her heart today.  Chloe is only two months old.  Additional surgery will be required when she is older.  Today’s surgery will be at Children’s Hospital in New Orleans.

 

Continue to pray for my family as we care for Momma at home.

 

Mrs. Mary Evelyn Magee McDaniel of Franklinton passed away.  She had a number of relatives in Kentwood.

 

will you go “one day without shoes” with me?

The last two years, I have gone without shoes for one day, supporting the creators ofToms in their efforts to engage American consumers in buying more than just a pair of shoes for themselves. Will you do it with me this year? It’s easy:

Update on Dr. Aguillard

Monday, March 28th

2 p.m.

 

The Louisiana Baptist family continues in prayer for Dr. Joe Aguillard, president of Louisiana College.

 

Amy Robertson, Louisiana College director of communications, spoke to Dr. Aguillard’s family and communicated the latest information regarding his condition:

  • doctors have confirmed that he did have a heart attack
  • there is minimal damage to his heart from the heart attack
  • doctors have diagnosed him with Coronary Artery Disease
  • he will have by-pass surgery in about one week.
  • he is in Rapides Regional Hospital; resting comfortably
  • he is not settled in a room yet. Please hold off on sending flowers, cards, etc.
  • doctors are not allowing any visitors at this time.

The Louisiana College is holding a special prayer service tomorrow, Tuesday, March 29, at 11 am in the Guinn Auditorium. Dr. Chuck Quarles will lead a collective prayer time for Dr. Aguillard and his family. At that time another update on his condition will be given to the students, faculty, staff and the general population.

 

Roger Pittman’s by-pass surgery will be Wednesday morning at 7:20 in McComb. Please be in prayer for Roger, Lois, Karen, and other family members as well as the medical staff working with Roger.

A call to prayer-

 

Early this morning, March 28, Dr. Joe Aguillard, President of Louisiana College, was taken to the hospital suffering from an apparent heart attack. Doctors are running tests to determine the best course of treatment for him. As of yet, there is no official word from his cardiologist.

 

The most important thing Louisiana Baptists can do is pray for Dr. Aguillard, his family and physicians. As more information is available, the LC communications department will post that data.

Chili’s will donate 10 percent of sales to Jon-Michael Williams’ family Monday

HAMMOND—You can grab a bite to eat and help a local family in need today as Chili’s Restaurant in Hammond hosts “Jon-Michael Williams Day” Monday.

From 11 a.m. until 11 p.m., Chili’s in Hammond will donate 10 percent of all qualifying sales to the Williams family.

To qualify, customers can either bring in one of the JM Day fliers that are available athttp://www.facebook.com/#!/photo.php?fbid=10150172003975851&set=a.171808765850.157593.160362450850&theater, or just mention Hope for JM Day when you order.

The local restaurant has committed to donating 10 percent of all qualifying purchases to the fund, which will help 18-year-old Jon-Michael Williams with medical expenses after he was hit head-on by a driver just days before Thanksgiving.

Williams, a senior at Hammond High and resident of Tickfaw, has made miraculous progress but still has a way to go before he is fully recovered.

I also feel joy. You delight Him.

Praying for you, praying with you, is one of my favorite things.

I love how God brings our hearts together in the ways that matter most, wherever we are. And whatever you need today, I’m asking Him to give it to you.

Sunday Afternoon Later Addition

Pray for Eddie Muse as he is landing at Fernwood today.  He will be staying with family so they can help care for him.  Please pray for Eddie and his family.  They appreciate your prayers.

Don’t forget to pray for Roger Pittman as he has a cauterization tomorrow.

Frankie Gehringer had some problems with medication and was hospitalized, but is back at home.

Momma is being dismissed from North Oaks.  Pray for our family as we continue to care for her at home.

William Bobby Gill, born August 7, 1930, passed away Sunday, March 27, 2011 at 1 pm at his home in Kentwood. The family appreciates your prayers at this time.

Jadon’s Story

I’m so sorry I haven’t posted in so long. I’ve been very busy and I
haven’t had much time for computers. I’m feeling much better but my
seizures aren’t any better. In fact they are more intense:( We don’t
know why. We had blood work done Monday but we still don’t have the
results. We increased my vimpat some more but it hasn’t helped any.
I’m sure we will make some more changes on Monday. We have also
completed the paperwork to try and get a nurse to come watch me while
my mommy works. I stay with my Mimi right now but I’ll need someone to
watch me next year. Please pray that we get this approved. It would
surely make things less stressful. We got my early steps yearly
evaluation back. My lowest scores were in motor and speech but we knew
this. This best news is my social/emotional scores were normal. This
means my alertness and interaction with others is normal. I also show
appropriate emotions to the situation. So that is great news. Last
year I didn’t score very high in this area and this year normal. So we
are very happy about this. I’m a fighter and I will keep fighting this
horrible monster. Don’t forget today is purple day. So wear your
purple for me today. Love you and please continue to pray for me.

I say into the phone, “But I feel so weird. Who else does this?” I’ve let my imagination run wild again–comparing myself to other people in my life.

Wise Denise says into the phone, “It’s kind of like being ‘in the world but not of it’. We’re all called to do things that are a little different.”

“Yes,” I ponder, “The world says,‘Everybody’s doing it so you should too.’But it seems like God says, ‘Nobody’s doing it so I need you to.'”

Build an ark.

Lead a nation across a desert.

Become a king instead of a shepherd.

What God calls us to do always seems a bit unlikely and impossible. But we need you to be YOU and to do what only you are called to.

Let’s keep at it.

Keep our heads up.

Keep our hands and hearts open to the One who has more for us than we can even imagine.

Holley, thanks for sharing and for reminding us to keep and hands and hearts open to God.
