Thursday Afternoon

23 Days and Two Little Words

I started saying love you. I sound so sweet when I say it. This brings so much happiness to my family. At one point it was two little words that they thought they may never hear. Well I finally said it and they said it was worth every minute they had to wait. Today we celebrate day 23 of no seizures 🙂 Wow, it’s so amazing. I can go to sleep without the seizure monster attacking me. I can wake up and not have any seizures. I’m still trying to get used to this. We have always had to be so careful with my 200 a day seizures and now it’s none. Thank you so much God for guiding my parents to the right place to help me. You are an awesome God. I love being able to play and not hit my head on things due to a seizure. Now the not so good thing. I had to go to children’s hospital yesterday. My blood work showed my hemoglobin was low and a few other things high so we had to go for a CT scan. It was awful. It took them four times to get an IV. I was scared to death during the CT scan. My mommy sang to me which helped me calm down some. Thankfully the CT was fine. No fluid build up and no infection. Praise God for that. I am feeling a little better today but not much. I’m just so sick and weak. Though I’m sick I continue to make progress. I’m such a warrior. I keep on fighting. I’m also not having seizures which is amazing because my seizures were always horrible when I was sick. Hopefully I’ll get to feeling better soon. The has just been awful. Please continue to pray for me and that I will feel better soon. Also pray for my online friends. I have alot who are in the hospital. Some have started having new seizures and some are having increased seizures. I really wish we could find a way to stop their seizures too. My heart goes out to them. Oh and I haven’t forgotten about the videos. My computer is broke and I can’t upload them from my phone. Love ya, Jadon
Update on Jadon. Please pray this fever will go away. It’s still 104 this morning. Other than being sick, he is doing great.

Thursday

“The LORD does not look at the things people look at.

People look at the outward appearance,

but the LORD looks at the heart.”

~1 Samuel 16:7b NIV~

Susan Rimes is doing much better.  Her kidney stones put her out of her routine for four months!  Thank God she is now on the road to recovery.

Jimmy Tolar is better.  Thank God he has improved.

Jill Brister is a little better.  She will be returning to school soon.

Pray for Taylor Breeland.  She continues to battle the treatment medication and the disease.  Pray for peace for her and her family during this difficult time.

Andy Taylor is slowly recovering from the gall bladder problem,  but now has a new enemy, shingles!  Pray his pain lessens!

Continue to pray for the ladies who are recovering from their injuring in Friday’s accident.  Pray for the families of all four ladies.  Now, this will be hard for some of us.  Pray for the driver of the chip truck.  His world has been turned upside down.  God loves him too!

There are always people who are ill that I don’t list for one reason or another.  Please pray for any you may know of.  If you think it is appropriate for me to list them, please let me know.

It is not appropriate for me to list the names of people who are lost.  Go over your own personal list and pray.  Hopefully, several people are praying for each one.

Thought for the Day: In need of a physician

English sign in German cafe: “Mothers, Please Wash Your Hans Before Eating.”

On a scientist’s door: “Gone Fission”

Outside a hotel: “Help! We need inn-experienced people.”

On a music teacher’s door: “Out Chopin.”

On the door of a music library: “Bach in a minuet.”

At a farmer’s field: “The farmer allows walkers to cross the field for free, but the bull charges.”

In a podiatrist’s window: “Time wounds all heels.”

At the Electric Company: “We would be de-lighted if you send in your bill. However, if you don’t, you will be.”

On Maternity Room door: “Push, Push, Push”

Sign on fence: “Salesmen welcome. Dog food is expensive.”

Muffler shop: “No appointment necessary. We’ll hear you coming.”

Veterinarian’s waiting room: “Be back in 5 minutes. Sit! Stay!”

Optometrist’s office: “If you don’t see what you’re looking for, you’ve come to the right place.”

That last sign is just a humorous way of saying that it is only those people who are sick who are in need of the doctor. And isn’t that what Jesus himself said?

“Those who are well have no need of a physician, but those who are sick. I did not come to call the righteous, but sinners, to repentance.” (Mark 2:17)

Jesus and the Pharisees often had conflict over the “sinners”. The Pharisees drew a sharp dividing line between the righteous and the sinners. No good Jew would ever associate with “that kind of people.”

But, while the feeling of the religious leaders was contempt and disgust for sinners, that certainly wasn’t the attitude of Jesus. Jesus often ate and drank with them and invited one of them (Levi) to be one of his apostles. The Pharisees accused Jesus of being the “friend of tax-collectors and sinners.” But to Jesus, that was a compliment. And it is perhaps the most endearing and touching description of our Lord.

Jesus didn’t come to hobnob with the religious elite. He came to save sinners. He didn’t come to make small talk with people too blind to see how sin-sick they truly were. He came to be a doctor to those who were sick and knew it. It wasn’t those who claimed to be “righteous” who commanded Christ’s attention. It was the “sinners” he came looking for.

Sometimes we need to be reminded that the church is not a place for people who are perfect, but rather a place for those who are sick (with sin) who are seeking healing at the hands of the Great Physician.

Don’t stay away from church because you don’t have it all together. Come and find healing along with the rest of us who don’t have it all together either.

Have a great day!

Be careful of the wet roads and the fog today.  As you go through your day, periodically say a prayer for those listed and others you my have listed on your heart.

Wednesday Afternoon

From Mary Ann Cutrer concerning her granddaughter KaLeigh Powers

KaLeigh went for her checkup today and for the pathology report. Praise God the report was negative. No malignancy noted and no precancerous cells. God is so good.
Thanks to all who prayed for her. That really meant alot to her and her family. Never under estimate the power of our WONDERFUL GOD, because He will take care of His children.

David’s great-niece is expected to be about to leave the hospital today, without having surgery.  Thank God Harley was spared from having surgery.

Mrs. Avis Sullivan has been admitted to Hood Memorial to receive antibiotics to fight a stubborn infection.  Pray she gets better quickly.

Mr. Earlo LaBauve will probably begin temporary dialysis tomorrow at North Oaks.  Pray for him and for his family.

Jadon Pailet has been admitted to Children’s Hospital in New Orleans today.  Jadon is again running a high temperature.  Keep him and his family in your prayers.

Wednesday

“Very early in the morning,

while it was still dark,

Jesus got up,

left the house and

went off to a solitary place,

where he prayed.”

~Mark 1:35 NIV~

Lots of prayer time is needed in our local communities to pray others and ourselves through the tough times so many families have experienced lately.  The Good News is that God has walked every step with each one of us and carried those who were unable to walk on their own strength.

Thought for the Day: When the rains begin

A newcomer to Seattle arrives on a rainy day. She gets up the next day and it’s raining. It also rains the day after that, and the day after that. She goes out to lunch and sees a young kid and, out of despair, asks, “Hey, kid, does it ever stop raining around here?” The kid says, “How should I know? I’m only 6.”

Residents of Seattle don’t tan — they rust!

I hear it only rains twice a year in Seattle — August through April and May through July.

Q: What do you call two straight days of rain in Seattle?
A: A weekend.

Q: What does daylight-saving time mean in Seattle?
A: An extra hour of rain.

Seattle may have a reputation for having a lot of rain, but it’s impossible to think about much rain without Noah and the flood coming to mind. The story of Noah is well-known, even among children, and its lessons are deep. Through this brief narrative, we are reminded of all of the essential elements of our relationship with God: God’s hatred of sin and the assurance of His judgment, God’s grace in providing a way of salvation, and Noah’s faith which led him to obey God completely.

“By faith Noah, being divinely warned of things not yet seen, moved with godly fear, prepared an ark for the saving of his household, by which he condemned the world and became heir of the righteousness which is according to faith.” (Hebrews 11:7)

May your faith sustain you when the rains begin!

Have a great day!

I hope you have the faith to sustain you when the rains and floods of life happen in your world.  If not, please talk with someone who can guide you.  When you have that faith, life on this earth, no matter how good it is, does not begin to compare to life in heaven.

Tuesday Afternoon

Wall McKneely said Jadon continues to do well today.  It doesn’t hurt to cover his family with prayers each day.

I saw Pat Felker.  She said “Miss” Grace Helen had knee surgery again and is expected to be in the hospital for 4-6 weeks.  B.J. saw the doctor yesterday, but continues to have an infection in the incision on her leg.  Pray that clears up without her having to be hospitalized again.

David’s great niece, Harley, is doing well.  The doctors did not see the need to discuss surgery today.  If she continues to do well, Harley may be able to go home tomorrow.

Mrs. Carol Jean Gill‘s family said she is still about the same.  Keep her name on our lips throughout the day as to petition God to continue to watch over her and her family.

David and I have been to 8 wakes and/or funerals in the past 12 days.  The memorial services have been very memorable.  I’m thankful for each life that touched me and for memorial services that were equally special and touching.  Pray for the many hurting families in our area.  It’s really touching to see hurting families reaching out to other hurting families.  We have some great Christian people in our area!  May that always be true!
