Thursday Afternoon

It has been a long week, but one that ended well.  We appreciate all those who checked on us while we were getting David some needed tests and treatment.  Things happen so quickly at times.  It became all I could do to keep up with what I needed to do for David. We were in the La. Heart Hospital in Lacombe, but just got home this afternoon.  We appreciate all the prayers and contacts.  The care was wonderful.  God was faithful to us and guided us with decisions/procedures as they came along.

To top it off, today is our 48th anniversary.  Instead of going out for supper as planned, it is being delivered to us at 5 P.M.  We have been so blessed for all these years and still are.

Monday

“For the eyes of the LORD run to and fro

throughout the whole earth,

to show Himself strong

on behalf of those whose heart is loyal to Him.”

~2 Chronicles 16:9a, NKJV~

Please pray for Walter and Kathy D. Boone.  Walter will have by-pass surgery Friday.  Pray for the patient, the medical staff, and the care givers.

Mike Lambert continues to had various serious medical issues.  Keep him and his family in your prayers.

Sunday

That if you confess with your mouth,

“Jesus is Lord,”

and believe in your heart

that God raised him from the dead,

you will be saved.

For it is with your heart

that you believe and are justified,

and it is with your mouth

that you confess and are saved.

FBC, Greensburg is celebrating homecoming today!  I forgot how many years!

East Fork Baptist Church had a great revival last week.

New Zion Baptist Church is beginning revival this morning.

Pleasant Hill Baptist Church, Pine Grove, was preparing for a back-to-school bash when I passed yesterday.

Judson Baptist Church in Walker hosted a state WMU day yesterday.  The ladies were very surprised and blessed by the number of men there to help serve and make our day flow nicely.  Thanks to the state leaders, led by Janie Wise, in planning and carrying out a wonderful training session.  The missionary speaker certainly was one of the highlights of the day.  I wish I could hear him again today.  (I got to speak with Mrs. McCon, formerly of Line Creek Baptist Church and eat lunch with ladies from Bethel, Amite, Minden, Old Zion Hill, and Judson Baptist.)

I get to teach Sunday School at 9:15 at FBC, Kentwood.  I am so blessed.

Carol New’s sister, Flo’s, surgery was long, but seemed successful.  Pray for Flo as she recovers, heals, and goes through therapy.  Pray for Carol as she probably will continue to put in long days.  Carol appreciates your prayers for her family during this time.
