Henry John Hoffstadt, Jr. (82) died on Friday, March 13, 2015 at Richard Murphy Hospice House in Hammond, LA. He was born in New Orleans, LA. Henry served in the US Navy during the Korean War, worked as District Manager of South Central Bell in Baton Rouge, and founded Hoffstadt Farms in 1977. Henry is survived by his wife of 52 years, Florence Moate Hoffstadt; two sons, Henry J. Hoffstadt, III and Harrell M. Hoffstadt and daughter, Holly Hoffstadt Strong; seven grandchildren, Brittany Hoffstadt, Hank Hoffstadt, Jonathan Hoffstadt, Nicholas Hoffstadt, Charlie Strong, Shelly Hoffstadt and Alaina Strong and sister, Lynda Hoffstadt Walker. He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry John Hoffstadt, Sr. and Alma Harrell Hoffstadt and four sisters, Alma Hoffstadt Neal, Blanche Hoffstadt Montz, Camille Hoffstadt Casey and Earllea Hoffstadt Perez. Rosary begins at 8:00 a.m., Tuesday, March 17, 2015 at St. Helena Catholic Church in Amite, La. Visitation will be from 8:30 to 11:00 a.m. in the church hall and funeral Mass to follow. Interment will be at Hoffstadt Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Richard Murphy Hospice Foundation, 1109 S. Chestnut Street, Hammond, LA 70403.
