Teams will leave early Thursday morning for a week deployment. We are still seeking volunteers to complete these teams.

May 17

Update from Kentucky Baptist Disaster Relief Department:
Two of our disaster relief volunteers who are in Michigan responding to flooding were involved in an automobile accident yesterday afternoon, May 16, 2014.
It is with heavy hearts as we share the news that Bob Waldron, a long time Disaster Relief Volunteer passed away yesterday as a result of this accident. Early indications are that Bob suffered a massive heart attack that contributed to the accident. Robert (Bob) Waldron was 79 years old. He resided in Mt. Washington, Kentucky and was a member of Southeastern Christian Church in Louisville, Kentucky. He is survived by his wife Janice.
Buford “Butch” Turley is in stable but critical condition at Butterworth Hospital in Grand Rapids, Michigan. His wife’s name is Wanda. They live in Frankfort, Kentucky and are members of Millville Baptist Church.

Coy Webb will be traveling to Michigan this morning to be with the families and the remaining Disaster Relief Recovery Teams who are continuing to serve in the Paris, Michigan area.

Please pray:

For the Waldron and Turley families and those who will be coming alongside and ministering to them in the coming days.

For the remaining teams serving in Michigan for safety and focus as they continue to serve the victims of the flooding in Michigan.

For Coy as he travels today to Michigan.

For the Kentucky Disaster Relief family as they grieve the loss of this DR brother.

At the worksite where Bob Waldron and Butch Turley served yesterday before leaving and before this tragic accident occurred, the homeowner prayed with Butch to receive Christ before they left! Giving our God all the praise for this news amidst this difficult time.

Both work teams that remain in Michigan are out on jobsites today. Please pray for these teams.
