ROBERT B. “BOB” STEGALL, SR.
SEPTEMBER 21, 1926 – OCTOBER 18, 2013)
Robert B. “Bob” Stegall, Sr., 87, died October 18, 2013, at VA Medical Center in Jackson, MS. Funeral Services were scheduled for 3 p.m. Tuesday, October 22 in the chapel of Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Brandon, MS. Visitation was from 12 noon until service time at 3 p.m.
Mr. Stegall was born on Sept. 21, 1926, in McComb, MS. to William Archie and Emma Gladys Farrar Stegall. He was a WWII Veteran and was honorably discharged after serving in the US Army from Dec. 1944 until Nov. 1946. After his tour of duty, he was self-employed as a Master Mechanic for 50 years establishing the business of Stegall’s Garage in Kentwood. Mr. Stegall was a member of First Baptist of Kentwood.
Mr. Stegall was preceded in death by a son, Robert B. “Bobby” Stegall, Jr. and grandson, Michael Hendry along with his parents, one sister and one brother.
Survivors include his daughter, Linda (Gary) Hendry, Plaquemine, LA; 2 sisters, Patsy Jackson, Brookhaven, MS, Bonnie (Vaughn) Galloway, Brandon, MS; 2 brothers, Freddie (Jane) Stegall, Wesson, MS and Jessie (Linda) Stegall, Wesson, MS. He is also survived by 5 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
The family would like to thank the staff of Mississippi State Veterans Home where he was a resident for the past 3 years for their dedicated care and devotion.
