Survived by wife, June Blades, Kentwood; son, Matthew “Cody” Blades and fiancé, Julia Moore, Kentwood; 3 daughters, Amanda Allen and husband, Donald, Amite, Jessica Elam and Roger Granger, Kentwood and Erica Elam, Philadelphia, MS; 7 grandchildren, who were his pride and joy, Gabriel Allen, Micheal Allen, Ashleigh Granger, Ashton Granger, Ahydon Granger, Kyleigh Overstreet and Adaleigh Bascle; 1 sister, Cindy Harriman and husband, Kelvin, Kentwood; 2 brothers, Larry Blades and wife, Stephanie, Kentwood and Clayton Blades, Kentwood. Preceded in death by parents, Melvin “Doc” Blades and Myrtle Smith Blades and sister, Shirley Blackwell. Visitation at The Lord’s Church from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m., Wednesday, October 2, 2013, and from 8 a.m. until religious services at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, October 3, 2013.
