Austin Rose is still hospitalized in Georgia, but doctors are working hard to get him out so he can march in with his hight school band tomorrow night.

Me and mr. Michael bracy will like to invite any children who like to sing to come every sunday evening to east fork baptist church at 5:30. Sunday we will be start practicing our christmas music. We r doing things different this christmas. We r sing with the youth and the adult choir but we will not be practicing with them until closer time to do the program. So children please come out and joining us. We r going to have a great time. I hope to see u at east fork baptist church this sunday evening at 5:30.

Evelyn Gayle Dunn Wilson Pittman
(August 26, 1946 – August 28, 2013)

Evelyn Gayle Dunn Wilson Pittman was born August 26, 1946 and entered heaven on August 28, 2013. Services will be held at New Zion Baptist Church in Kentwood, conducted by Rev. Demond Kennedy. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until services at 12 Noon on Saturday, August 31, 2130 under the direction of McKneely Funeral Home of Kentwood. Burial at Woodland Cemetery in Kentwood. Evelyn was preceded in death by her father, Woodrow Dunn, brothers, M. L. Wilson, Calvin Wilson and Richard Dunn, daughter-in-law, Julia Marie Miller and husband, Ellis Pittman. She is survived by her two sons, Doug Wilson and Steve Wilson and his wife, Becky of Clinton, granddaughter, serving in Afghanistan, Heather Wilson McCraine and husband, Dennis of Slidell, grandson, Harlee Wilson of Pine, four step grandchildren Johna Blades and husband, Cody, Erin Hunt and husband, Matt, and Zachary Foster all of Kentwood and Melody Newcomb and husband, Brandon of Greensburg. Great Grandchildren, Adriohna, Curtis and Dalton Blades and Preston and Kinsley Hunt, all of Kentwood and Daisy and Braylin Newcomb of Greensburg. Also survived by her mother, Eula Pearl Day Jenkins of Shreveport, brothers, Leroy Wilson and wife, Margaret Ann of Alexandria, Charles Dunn of Greensburg, sisters, Jeanette Armato of Independence, Rita Blades and husband, V. R. “Cue” of Greensburg, Diane Scott and husband, Danny of Shreveport and sister-in-law, Kathy Dunn of Greensburg. Many nieces and nephews that will miss her also. Evelyn was an excellent cook and delighted in preparing special favorites for loved ones. She put great effort into selecting the perfect card sometimes just to show she cared. We all loved receiving those beautifully addressed cards and letters. Honoring her as pall-bearers will be grandson, Harlee Wilson, nephews, Michael and Gary Armato, Gary Blades, Daniel Scott and family friend, Kelly Bass. Special thanks to former husband, Douglas Wilson, for emotional and spiritual support and special thanks to all friends and family in this time of need. Johanna Sherman
(August 19, 2013 – August 29, 2013)

A resident of Kentwood, died at 3:48 a.m on Thursday, August 29, 2013 at North Oaks Medical Center in Hammond. She was born August 19, 1932 in New Orleans and was 81 years of age. Survived by daughter, Kay Larrieu; sons, Joseph Smith, James Borrelli and Patrick Borrelli; sisters, Chetta Yenni and Netsie Holmes; 7 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. Preceded in death by parents, Joseph and Johanna Soleto; daughter, Kim Fisher; sister, Theresa Saragusa; brother, Willie Soleto. Visitation at St. Helena Catholic Church from 8:30 a.m. until religious services at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, September 3, 2013. Services conducted by Fr. Mark Beard. Interment Colonial Cemetery, Independence. McKneely Funeral Home, Amite, in charge of arrangements.
